Dinos are dangerous to the bone,
full of impact, threat and teeth.
If you were to meet one now
the encounter may well be brief.
Benji theorises on a theme he has,
that anything can be a monster.
Even a Walrus can be deadly
(according to the museum sponsor)
Letting imagination go wild
the Grandmaster Pup’s getting ideas.
He’ll take the innocent from here
and turn it into his players worstfears.
I didn’t know there was a Sound of Thunder movie! That was a good short story.
It’s been out for a long time, I watched it on dvd years ago. It’s a good movie but I never read the short story so I can’t say how close the movie stays to the original.
I watched that movie long ago. From what I remember it was overall an okay watch, just overexaggeration like every butterfly effect movie (with a literal butterfly if I remember correct. But some things just didn’t make sense too me, e.g. how multiple expeditions could be made to the same space-time without them ever interfering with each other – but at they end, they can.
Lets put it this way it aired late night on syfy channel
The bones of a large therapod
stared at by a dragon- how odd!
Some parody titles
for films found most vital
to avoid the horrible might
of laws about copyright.
Actually trademark, not copyright. Copyright protects a creative work, such as stories as found in novels and movies, but trademark is intended to protect names, logos and distinctive elements of products, services, fictional characters, etc. that you use for a profit. You can not trademark a realistic dinosaur, on its own, but you can trademark your interpretation of a dinosaur, especially in context to your business.
Did you just reference tusk?
For those who don’t know
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3099498/
unknowingly it seems I did xD
honestly, I did not know about the movie until you mentioned it.
Panel 1: “Yeah, and some of those other dinosaurs came from other /eras,/ as well.”
Panel 2: “Howl Of Thunder had a /T-Rex,/ as well.” … “Many dinosaur /movies,/ actually.”
Thanks again for catching those. I should send you my script so you can read over in ahead of time xD
I suggest sending it in Saturday nights.
It’s easier than you think.
Cast have to paddle between icebergs because plot. Treasure hunters maybe. And Walrus is frozen out with rabies, hungry for blood.
What? It’s better than some actual horror movie plots.
“Night of the Leapus” comes to mind. 🙂 (giant rabbits!)
Yeah, with enough imagination you can do it with anything really. ^^
Watch this Pingu episode and you will understand the terror of the walrus
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29GrZyQEwXM
Oh boy, that’s worse than I thought xD
An horror movie with a walrus , why not ? It would be more acceptable than an horror movie with killer tomatoes …………….
Haha, yeah, who even came up with that idea xD
Ok, I now need to watch “Attack Off The Killer Tomatoes” 1983 😉
So is “Cold Age” an actual movie, or are you just renaming the Ice Age franchise to avoid legal issues?
There you go; you got it.
It’s Ice Age, because I love changing the names of these movies when I reference them. It’s not really about legal issues, as I can mention them all I want since you can’t copyright a title :p
Good thing they didn’t run into a dodo, that would be a tricky one to make into a horror movie.
Who knows. Being initially small and cute (and/or dead) never stopped anything from turning to horror later, e.g. Gremlins or Pet Sematary.
Two words: bird flue.
Actually, dodos were flightless. Those birds never flew.
Flue: Part of a chimney.
Flu: Abbreviation of influenza.
Getting a moderately large bird caught in your chimney could be a very bad scene.
Especially if you don’t find the bird until -after- the fire is lit! Hungry now? 🙂
The killer bunny from Monty Python comes to mind :p
No it wouldn’t. People scream whenever they turn up in Bill Holbrooks’ ‘Safe Havens’ after all…
I like Benji’s tail wagging in the last panel.
I just realized, isn’t that the “Dragon Inside” shirt Kai is wearing? Did he… release the dragon?
Great, now I’m thinking of Dragon Booster.
It’s the same color, but it’s not the same shirt :p
I should come up with more things to put on shirts though, the dragon inside one was pretty nice.
So, Robin, what did you think of Hybridor? Btw nice comic.
for now I can’t tell much. It’s on my list to check out but I’m currently going through another webcomic called Paranatural. Hybridor, from what I’ve quickly flipped through the archive, looks a little heavy on the drama as I saw a bird flying over to the beach only to find a creature being hit by a light and being dead. The birdy got scared I believe. I’ll look into it later when I’m done with the other comics I’m reading at the moment ^^
It’s not like that drama filled really, but there are…
I feel like HEAVY moments is the best way to describe them.
Hey, Dire Walrus would be a lot more terrifying than a Dire Badger. I don’t think those tusks are just for show, and a tonne of blubber coming at you is rightly scary.
What are Kai and Kaya’s favourite dragon themed movies?
watch out for the honey badger though, those are some though little buggers :p
as for favourite movies with dragons, How to train your dragon and Smaug from The Hobbit come to mind :p
NO , the best dragon is Saphira from “Eragon” ^_^
Wraith is best dragon! 😉 🙂 🙂 heheheh.
https://i0.wp.com/macenstein.com/default/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Dragonvale_Wraith_Dragon.png?resize=640%2C360
Hope Kaya never meet it : she’ll want as pet ^_^”
I wasn’t thinking of a “Dragonvale Wraith Dragon,” but that’s still pretty cute. 🙂
Hmm, extinct animals coming back or giant killer walrus?
I’m liking how Benji’s mind works more and more. Sounds like it’d be a fun C&D game night.
Oh yeah, it’ll be ‘the curse of the killer walrus, part 1’ xD
Benji’s tail wag at the end is simply precious. I love all the minute attention to detail made in each and every panel of this comic. It takes more than just skill with a pen to reach the level Robin has achieved. It takes practice, attention to detail, knowledge of motion, and a plethora of creativity to release such amazing pages of comic on a weekly basis. I am awestruck anew with every page I read. Keep up this breathtaking work Robin. Stay awesome.
Thanks Alpha ^^ thank you for all the praise and for taking the time to analyse my pages 😀
I saw that obscure little primeval reference! I loved that show!
Same here, it was great! I loved the first two seasons more but the other ones were still pretty good ^^
Next up in the movies theaters, the “murdwalrus”
Let’s hope I get royalties xD
Walrus: The Tuskening.
*waits for royalty check*
Benji needs to get some of those royalties though :p
I think it got diverted to White Wolf Game Studios.
There was a BBC News report yesterday that a wild tur had escaped from an English zoo and was loose in the countryside. People were warned not to get close if they found it, and to let the police try to catch it.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-devon-45629855
I haven’t seen any horror movies with a tur as the monster.
Me neither, but I’m sure it can be done :p
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger had that giant walrus in it.
Never watched it, but that’s awesome :3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1PgqE4p0Og
They already made a killer walrus movie: Tusk
Yep. Best watched when drunk on the best vodka.
Yeah, I didn’t know about it until I read some comments on the comic xD
Why not a remake of “night in the museum” : all the students being trapped in there , with a lot of dino skeletons come back to “life” ? XD
I got other things in mind for the chapter, but that would be hilarious xD
Let’s see…a movie with a killer walrus…
Mythbusters: The Movie.
Omg, you went there xD
Even if I do prefer the 20 foot tall robot penguin with electric tentacles from Monty Python’s skit ” Col Perry at the North Pole”
I never saw that, but now I feel the need to see it xD
Instead of a Killer Walrus, try using a Leopard Seal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_seal
those things are vicious killers alright.
I was in a museum and by the gift shop there was a series of notable photographs with the stories behind them, so the photographer of one was in a shack in the arctic tundra by the water or that sorta place and a huge herd of walruses decided to make their home on the same beach, and I mean a huge herd, to the horizon the guy couldn’t see clear ice (with the photo proving it). The constant mooing kept him from sleeping for three days and he lived in fear that a nearby fight breaking out between them would topple the shack
Wow, that must have been a scary experience. You can say what you want, but walrusses are huge and you don’t want them mad at you, let alone a herd that size.
Goo goo goojoob.
Well its best you forget it. A very disgusting film I made the mistake of watching
Did you kinow that walruses are known to sometimes kill and smaller seals?
ElsaBabe Doll Wow, fantastic weblog format! How long have you been blogging for? Also vital is definitely the fashion by which your real love doll will accept that which you required to do to carry her into your life.
