A cwtch is more than a Welsh hug
it offers both the safest of places.
It speaks of affection fitting snug
and the greatest of all the graces.
Kaya puts Cwtches to the shade
with her power and open inner heat;
her victory is a battle well played
against the inevitability of defeat.
Now they just have to beat the three
to free Cleo from their evil hold.
I wonder what twists there’ll be
and of Kai’s tale, still to be told.

Cleo and Kaya ought to be fun together, especially if she keeps giving Kaya reasons for hugging! 🙂 (Hopefully the aversion to hugs isn’t caused by some kind of ailment or something. I doubt it; but, just going by her line in the last panel.)
No ailment, just not being used to it.
Well, I’m sure that Kaya will ensure that Cleo always eats for free at her father’s restaurant, even if it means eternal dish duty.
Do I remember right, that Cleo is Kaya’s first real female-hybrid friend? Ironic as it might be, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you are right, Thisguy. 🙂 Ironic, because even eating there daily would probably be chicken-feed (monetarily speaking) for Cleo. 🙂

Well, did Cleo bank on Kaya’s naviete…or did Kaya find something genuine?
Speaking from experience, I went to a private school in high school (LJCDS, I was class of 1997)…very expensive but highly regarded. I knew of 3 major groups there…
-Just rich. I ran afoul of a few of these bullies.
-Just smart. This was my group. I was in the group of kids whose parents busted their asses to make sure their kids got a proper education. Although it took concurrent classes in calculus and physics to make the lightbulb go on (“oh NOW math makes sense!”).
-Both rich and smart. I had a few friends in this group, one was my best friend in high school. He went on to MIT and then Adobe Systems. I’m working on becoming a doctor (I have my MD, but I have yet to gain residency…). These were great people in this school…the one football player I got along with was in this category, he took the Heisman Trophy for scholar athletes.
I’m betting Kaya and Kai fall into group number two here, and Cleo is kind of on group number three.
Nice summary. It’s not really that expensive of a school though. It certainly isn’t full of rich kids. Cleo is more like the exception there. Her father thought it would be good for her to attend a more normal school with a lot of hybrids.
Hi! :3 I’ve been following your comic for about a week, and I love it, it’s super cute. Also I feel like I came at a good time because this is a really great resolution to the most interesting story arc thus far :3 Can’t wait for more.
I like panel’s 3 and 4 best; Kaya’s ears and Cleo’s expression. 🙂
