I am working my fair share on linux (and I’m learning to program as well, so I kinda know whats important and what’s not and what things have to be done), so I really did most of this stuff off the top of my head.
To be honest, for the first one I actually did some research in form of just booting up my laptop with Linux and looking how the special characters were distributed in the input prompt (root@kaya~>_). For the rest I just picked what seemed cool and reasonable – I’m pretty sure you won’t find logs/outputs like these in actual computer programs / operating systems, but I think they are not too far off.
Most people would also be quite frightened if an enthusiastic dragon swooped in on them, also I’ve been binge watching jontron so I misread that as ‘swood’
I still think it’s funny how Kaya hone in on the other female green reptilian hybrid in the room. At least their colour schemes match… Unless they don’t, I have trouble with shades in the red/brown/green spectrum.
This raises an interesting question…how do they determine the species of hybridization? Surely they classify these things for medical and research reasons (maybe anticipating physiological needs or potential allergies). The question is, how do they disambiguate the hybrid species?
Kai and Kaya, for example. In the absence of firebreathing or fur on the tail (they might have been bald at birth), they might have been identified as lizard or snake. (I’m sure later, when the fire started, that really pinned down the species.) But what marks Cleo as a snake hybrid, rather than lizard?
Also, it seems like previously “mythical” species have a hybrid trait set somewhere in the genome…would we expect to see cervine or caprine hybrids identified as “satyr,” or an equine hybrid with a unicorn horn? (And for species that express horns/antlers/spines, should we expect to see UPD’s for safety in school?)
And have teachers mis-identified porcupine hybrids, when they were just un-hybridized humans who used a lot of hair gel?
DNA can go a long way in identifying their species.
There might be some more mythicals out there, but they’re very rare. Kai and Kaya are pretty special in that regard, as there were suddenly not one but two dragons.
About the antlers, I hadn’t thought about that yet, I must admit. No plans for any antler folk either, maybe in the future. I’ll figure it out by then :p
I think the difference between a porcupine hybrid and a gel hybrid (:p) becomes quite clear soon enough when they poke someone or something.
DNA would be weird because we are looking at new species. If the twins’ case of mythicals is typical, that might indicate that they are the “strongest” hybrids in the sense that their characteristics deviate most from human. Aside the fire and tail, the ears, jaw, eyes and skin are significantly different not to mention subtle differences like strength.
Yeah, I figure there’d be multifactorial inheritance going on. Possibly there might be two sets of genes (or three, because mitochondria also carry genetic information). It’s possible that at least one locus determines the species, and another set of loci determines the level of trait penetrance.

Always a pleasure reading your little poems.
This was more of a silly one. Maya’s totally Swoop. And the Pokeball icon had to be referenced.
*applauds while a single tear rolls down her cheek*
Always a joy finding your comments in most of the comics I read…
Yes it’s finally here *Holy chorus’s play*
Haha, yeah. Sadly, I can only update once a week. I would love to update more, but my patreon page has to really hit it of for that xD
then i shall get myself a cameo (maybe)…
Would be much appreciated ^^
But don’t feel forced to buy a cameo. Only when it’s convenient for you.
OK

I did one more! :3
Oooh, and a good one ^^
You’ve been researching, haven’t you?

I would be scared if anything swooped in at me
*Swoops in at you* xD
Watch out for magpies….the bird kind, not the AFL kind… Depending on who you barrack for anyway.
Yeah, Kaya might have to rethink her approach a little.
Poor Cloe. She has no idea what she’s getting into, has she?
Well, in her defense, Kaya decided that she would get into this, not Cloe herself xD
Like any dragon, swooping down to capture her prey.
Now I imagine Kaya grabbing Cleo and running away with her xD
I still think it’s funny how Kaya hone in on the other female green reptilian hybrid in the room. At least their colour schemes match… Unless they don’t, I have trouble with shades in the red/brown/green spectrum.
Well, Cleo probably stood out among the others :p
Cleo is a shade of brown, so they do go well together.
This raises an interesting question…how do they determine the species of hybridization? Surely they classify these things for medical and research reasons (maybe anticipating physiological needs or potential allergies). The question is, how do they disambiguate the hybrid species?

Haha, she learned not to pounce anybody for a greeting. That is fast progress. ^.=.^
There’s no hesitation in Kaya’s approach. I like Benji’s Pokemon shirt.
same its really cool how that was added. i love pokémon so its really nice to see that shirt. it was a exellent touch
