There’s no point to being adult
without being childish again.
I’m no older than my twin, Doc,
so please, can I have one, then?
I’m sorry for all the damage
and trouble I put you through
and, even though she behaved,
I’ll say that my sister is too.
I know it’s a cheek to ask;
it’s probably just a folly
but, um, the truth is, sir..?
I reaaaaly wanna fruit lolly!
i dont think kai would say kaya behaved. she may have behaved better than usual but she didnt behave very well. she is crazy!!! 😉 amazing poem tho. as usual
Kai: i have no probs being seen as childish if i get free candy out of it!
Heh, yup!
Reminds me of a 4th Doctor (Peter Baker) quote.
“What’s the point in being grown up if you can’t act childish sometimes?”
And THAT reminds ME of a Final Fantasy quote.
“What’s the point of pretending to ge grown up if it means all the things I wanna say never get said?”
Which one and which character?
Tidus, from X.
*TOM* Baker.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Doctor
Damn.
How could I mess that up.
I need to rewatch the old episodes
Confusing Tom with his successor, Peter Davison? At least you avoided calling him Colin.
Growing old is manditory.
Growing up is optional.
Some don’t grow old. My “oldest” brother will always be 26.
The correct mindset xD
when you go to the future of adulthood you look to the past of childhood.
Seriously? Throughout my entire life I’ve never been given a lollipop after a doctor’s visit for as far as I can remember. It’s probably just my personal experiences though.
Or you never behaved(!)
You don’t know that. And behavior isn’t really much of a factor.
Heheh! It was at -my- doctor’s! 🙂
Oddly enough it was my dentist.
Drumming up repeat business.
My dentist when I was a child gave out small cheap toys, small kids will be just as happy about a toy as a piece of candy, and you aren’t giving sugar to children.
Was always stickers for me as a kid.
Same for me, though. It’s not done everywhere, and not even by every doctor. I only know it’s a thing that happens, and I wanted to add it :p
Kai just wants a kickass blue tongue like me to ^^
*Thumbs up* But who knows though: maybe he’ll get a cherry red one instead!
If he goes for a blue one :p
Heh, cute! And hey who wouldn’t want free candy?
Good question. Though I guess it might not fit in some teen’s image xD
Might have to be a pretty special one for Rex. Maybe shaped like a bone….. oh! Big ol’ leg of ham shaped, flavored too!
🙂 I always saw Rex as more of an elk guy, or beef if there’s no elk available. 😉
This reminds me of something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gjV6HzvGAc
It reminds ME of this:

Never seen that show, but I do see why you would link it xD
The Psychiatrist in N.C.I.S. (Jack) evaluates people based on what colour lollipop they take during sessions!
Hah! I like the ridge around the middle of the lollipop. Makes it a -lot- easier to indicate it’s actually 3-dimensional rather than just a purple-circle-on-a-stick, eh? 🙂
funny how those two small lines make all the difference :p
It’s a blue ridge. Must be from Virginia.
Hey! We have the Blue Ridge Mountains here in NC too! 🙂
Fern’s other patients: “A lollipop? I’m not a little kid.”
Kai: “I want a lollipop, or I’m not satisfied with my care.”
Gah, that should be “Franklin’s other patients.” Don’t you hate when you miss your mistake until right after you hit “Post Comment”?
Same but It’s forgetting to put the email address in and clicked enter. Then all that you wrote gets deleted and you forgot what you written so you back to square one. has this happen to anyone else or is it just me
A couple times, my biggest issue is when I go to another tab to check something and the site forgets I’m replying and posts it as a new comment at the bottom.
Many. Times. 😉
It’s even worse when replying to a long e-mail! AAARRGH!! The ‘Reply’ function will (apparently) time out.
I finally took care of that by typing my reply in a separate file and copy/pasting it into an e-mail ‘Reply’.
That’s why I have extension for remembering textareas …
Nice Big Hero 6 reference there xD
I’m 31. And I still try to grab a lemon Dum-Dum whenever I visit the clinic.

Who says lollipops are only for little kids?
I would also grab one :p
That’s sparking a flame right there, giving one sibling a lollipop and not the other. I remember being jealous for a year or two when my brother and I were in the age ranges where I didn’t get a lollipop but he did. I can’t imagine the injustice little kid me would feel if we were twins. xD I love how well this shows off Kai’s commitment to whatever he sets his mind to, no matter how minuscule. Not to mention how adorable all of the panels are. Is it just me, or are Kai and Kaya both extra cute in this strip? It’s so precious. Especially satisfied Kaya with her lollipop. Good work Robin. I enjoyed reading this and it brought a big smile to my face. Thank you for all your hard work on this comic, and as always, stay awesome!
👍
Hey Alpha 😀
Yeah, one twin gets a lollipop and the other doesn’t? Not a good idea. We will have to fix that :p
Thanks for the kind words, once again ^^
Heh, Fern shouldn’t give lollipops out in the sight of other kids with doctors that don’t.
Also, reminds me of a Simpsons clip.
Marge: Bart, Lisa, do you want balloons too?
Bart: Mum, I’m 10! I’m not some little kid, next you’ll be asking if I want a wolly pop…. Actually I do want a wolly pop.
Super is sugar.
It’s a habit of hers, and she’s not gonna be stopped, darn it xD
At least, not without a good reason
Honestly, I think this page is just a bunch of cute moments.
Of course 😀
Heh! Isn’t that half the reason for reading this comic?? 🙂 🙂 🙂
It’s a wrong fact : doctors never gives candies . They takes care of children’s teeth
The myth came from somewhere. My little bro’s pediatrician gave out the ones with the looped stick so you can’t choke on it.
… Back from Google they’re called safe-T-pops.
My own dentist gave out mints (do those count? They’re in the candy isle at the grocery store so I’ll say yes)
Maybe they were a ‘hint’ for your next visit… 😉 🙂 🙂
DENTISTS -rarely- give candies. In my youth, I and several of my friends got plenty of lollipops from doctors’ visits.
Do you actually think you are right in everything you say and think Panther?
When I was little, the doctors gave out lollipops or small candies after an examination. Don’t know if they still do that, but that is not important since it is a “correct fact” that it has happened.
And even if this was not a hard fact in our reality (don’t know what reality you live in though since it seems different from everyone else), twin dragons is a fictional universe where things might work differently from ours.
No need to call him out like that, Taylor. Let’s all get along ^^
In Panther’s defense, I’ve never gotten candy from any doctor either. I only know of the practice through tv and comics. It would be easy to assume it’s a “myth”.
Well , i think you’re right : it’s time i go back to my own reality ………. Goodbye
Some of them do. Dentists probably don’t, for Obvious reasons :p
Won’t stop Kai from getting one xD
The dentist our mother brought my sister and me everytime always offered SUGARFREE candy.
By the way Robin, do the doctors actually have full names?
I think this is the first time Kai has managed to be cuter than Kaya in any given strip. Also congrats on your first d&d game. I did have my suspicions about it, and even if it may seem disorganized or illogically written to others your summary of the session was better than any one I’ve ever given. Did you ever consider playing online before finding a group? Just Curious.
Also what type of lollipop is that to have turned her tongue blue so quickly?
Literally any lollipops with enough food dye
it’s all in the food dye xD
And yup, Kai can be cute as well :p
I have just imagined how they would look with blue skin and green tongue 🤔 😀
That’s making me picture the characters from Bubble Bobble.
That would look weird xD
It would bring them closer to the Spyro comparison that Kaya made to Fern.
I want a lollipop.
who wouldn’t :p
Too bad in NY, even reward candy is prohibited, what with the juvenile diabetes epidemic and all that. Unfortunately, this led to removal of the soda machine from the 6th floor of Woodhull Hospital (which is where I did most of my clinical rotations). The soda machine would be next to the medical/surgical unit and at the OTHER END OF THE HOSPITAL from the pediatrics unit.
Now keep this in mind…surgeons. Many are sleep-deprived. Coffee is not readily available because of infection control protocols (soda is a work-around because of the container). Anyone seeing the logic in removing the soda machine, which also contained DIET soft drinks?
Here’s something else…where most surgeons may need to pull 24 hour shifts on call, neurosurgeons have to pull 36 hours. Surgeons are only allowed to operate for 18 hours barring time overruns and emergencies. Neurosurgeons tend to get a lot of emergencies. I had to serve a neurosurgeon a soda so they could keep working on an artery in someone’s head and minimize contamination risk. Caffeine can be gold sometimes.
Wow, that sounds like an unneeded strict way to try and keep people from consuming too much sugar. And very inconvenient for those surgeons.
I am 30 years old and if a doctor offered me a lollipop after an appointment i wouldn’t turn it down. Never too old for a lollipop.
Same. Would gladly take it xD
In never turn down a lollipop or a sticker 😀
*I not in 🙂 D’oh
Oh yeah, stickers are another thing you could get. I do vaguely remember getting a sticker when I was really little :p
Uuh.. Stickers weren’t a thing when I was little.. 🙁 😉 🙂 Well.. MAYbe a gold star, but that was more in school. 🙂
