You might want to use more contrasting colors for the text messages, they’re a bit hard to make out without a lot of zooming in.
Sorry, they looked fine when I was working on it. let me change that.
Darker message balloons or black text would make for a stronger contrast.
I opted for black text. It should be updated now
Hey, Robin, it’s probably good that they’ve stopped fighting. Other comics were coming in against Kaya!

Well, was hoping Liz would have cut off contact with Larissa after that talk with Nate but guess not. Maybe this will be the final straw for her though if she realizes the antics Larissa is trying to get them into will only cause more trouble for themselves and possibly hurt Cleo. Also uncle appears to be a bit of a jerk though Larissa did earn that a bit. If this a good example of how he’s been treating her though it’s no wonder she doesn’t like him.
Just because Larissa still has Liz’s number doesn’t mean Liz wants anything to do with her. Not responding to someone who calls/texts you is still technically cutting off contact.
But she did respond to Larissa’s text and indicated she would come along to the food festival. So Liz does appear to at least still be willing to associate with Larissa even after what she did back at the museum.
Oh, that’s Liz’s name on the second received message. That’s my bad. My phone doesn’t do group-chat text messaging. I assumed Larissa’s first one was a mass-text and it was just focusing on Dinah’s responses.
Still, Larissa’s message is rather innocuous on its own; taken without context, it looks more like a sort of “this is something I just found out about and I reckon you’ll enjoy it” than a “today we will do mean things”. You don’t exactly make friends with someone without common interests; just because Liz doesn’t want to have anything to do with her dragon-hunter attitude doesn’t mean they might not have other reasons to spend time together.
I don’t think those were SMS messages, looks like a Messenger/Telegram type chat app. Daniel the Human’s mobile can send a SMS to several people at once, but their replies come back in their individual conversations…
Turns out he gets rather annoyed when you accidentally send a SMS to everyone in his phonebook from his mobile and everyone replies trying to figure out what is going on. Gets worse when he runs out of credit minutes later… 😥
@Screwball – That’s how my mobile works, too. But the rest of my family has Apple devices, and apparently if you send a group-text to all Apple devices, it works as a group-chat system.
Cutting of long-time friends is not so easy to do. Liz probably still hopes things will go back to the way they were.
I don’t want to admit it, but Larissa is showing some impressive tactical wisdom, here. [It seems like] she understands she doesn’t stand a chance against Kaya in a straight-up fight, so she’s considering alternative approaches. Treating the food festival as a prime opportunity implies she has more of a plan than just “know where she is so I can deck her in the face”.
And Dinah describing the food festival as a “food truck rally” makes Cleo providing Marco with one seem a lot less out-of-the-blue. I was under the impression it was going to be more of a variety-of-stands type event, and the food truck was just Cleo thinking long-term usage.
*Liz describing the food festival
If she takes a step back and actually thinks a little, even Larissa can muster some common sense :p
That’s a pretty big “If” there, Robin!
*Liz describing the food festival
Alpha damn it, that did go through.
Hey, what did I do? xD
Crossfire, sorry about that! “Alpha” is a title referring to a creator deity known in a land of which I am rather fond, and who is not (usually) a dragon.
Oh, dear, I begin to see the reason
that their Lala is so unkind.
When hostility rains on the hostile
it comes out quite badly, I find.
Abuse in often means abuse out;
Some bullys give as bullys take.
The meaning of friendship is lost on them;
everyone else’s view is fake.
I hope Lizzie sees through all this build up
and walks out on their little game.
After all, since the museum pickle,
she just hasn’t been quite the same.
But tell me, oh poet
Whene’er have we seen
Aught of our poor Liz
Since the museum scene?
May very well be that
She’s grasped where she erred
But how can we be certain
With our stories elsewhere?
There’s much to be said
For a good heart to heart
And Thunderpants offered
An excellent start
Yet halflings will tell you
That change is not fast
But a gradual process
From first step to last
A food truck rally? The food trucks will drive a course, and there will be a prize for the fastest food truck? So it’s a fast food festival then? 😉
{cue the tomato}
That’s one way to toss your salad. 😉
That idea is so crazy I’m surprised someone hasn’t turned it into a show or something by now. We’ve already had card games on motorcycles. Time for competitive high speed food preparation!
Do you mean trying to make and cook food while driving through an race course? You Humans are squishier than us, think some people might get fingers sliced up a bit…
Alright, I’d probably watch something like that… 😋
Sounds like an old episode of Top Gear (UK).
Of course! What else did you have in mind? A bunch of food trucks selling food? Preposterous! xD
Looks like it’s Larissa:0 and the Others:Many, yet XD Also, congratulations on the webshop, it is a huge achievement! 😀
Thank you! The webstore has been going well ^^
Yes, Larissa just can’t win. Not that we want her to, but still :p
That’s so sad for you , Larissa : your hairs were close to fully grow back ^_^”
Yeah, almost there. Seems like she doesn’t like her hair xD
…I can’t quite put my finger on it, but could someone remind me where I’ve heard that name Larissa before?
If you’re talking about within the comic: Larissa has been one of Cleo’s bullies since Chapter… 3.
If you’re talking about outside of TwinDragons: Larisa (one s) Korolev is the pyromaniac from “Sandra and Woo”.
If that Larissa was in The comic, she’s be best friends with the twins. And probably try to tempt them into pyromania.
She would definitely not complain she was put on fire.
What DTIBA said. Larissa is the leader of the three girls that hung around Cleo first.
1. Bad Larissa, quit it with the revenge seeking.
2. Go Uncle!
3. Aww, don’t get Liz involved again. She felt terrible the last time, at the museum.
3. A few people are thinking/guessing/hoping this will be the last straw for Liz, turning her away from Senorita Psychopath finally. I’m no expert on Human behavior, but the conversation looks like it is a “let’s get together at this event” thing, but having it turn into a revenge outing? Here’s hoping it is the final straw…
Yea I have a feeling that Liz thinks that this is just a get together and enjoy the festival thing… and also reaaaaalllly hoping that this will cause her to break from “Lala” for good and possibly even have her extend an olive branch to Cleo. Liz feels like a follower and sadly Larissa’s domineering character uses that.
Yes on the surface all Larissa’s message seems to be is an invitation to hang out at a fun event. And this may be part of what I think may cause Liz to say “that’s enough” because Larissa is being deceptive about the real reason she wants to meet up with them. Though she is also showing a bit of basic awareness when it comes to online messaging: don’t talk about causing trouble over messaging services! It creates a record that a smart savvy investigator can get a hold of and increasingly is becoming one of the first things they look at.
I just hope Liz figures it out and bails -before- Larissa sucks her into more trouble than she can get out of!
You said it. Larissa is bad news all around xD
So Liz is still involved? Fair enough, when you’ve been friends so long. She’s probably hoping that after the museum incident her friends will give up the whole revenge thing. Though I suspect that Larissa is also very good at emotionally manipulating people.
Besides, her friends is inviting her to a food festival, nothing bad about that right?
Yeah, you don’t just dump long-time friends. liz is hoping it will go back to how things were.
I had really rather hoped this trio learned their lesson about trying to mess with the main cast. I mean, why keep trying to take revenge on someone when it not only consistently goes badly for you but also that person actively ignores you or even tries to help you? It seems so far only one of them has truly learned that lesson and is working to turn themself around. Of course, at the end of the day this is just a fictional story and everything is completely up to Robin’s choices. I just hope they don’t cause *too* much trouble at the festival. Still, the fact I’m getting so worked up about this is just a reminder of how skilled an author Robin is to create such realistic conflicts and well developed characters. Keep up the good work and as always, stay awesome!
Larissa is the kind of person able to spread rumors all around , about the quality of food at Marco’s truck , to keep peoples away
Thank you, Alpha 😀
Larissa isn’t the smartest person, and she doesn’t really give up either. Not the best trait for her to have for these situations xD
Ad: There should be a comma at the end of “book”.
Inaccurate. The “anyway” is a conditional applied to “get your hands on the book” and should not be separated by a comma.
Thanks for catching that ^^
Lala is about to learn why revenge is more costly than she anticipates, revenge is one of the biggest cost pits out there (and that means more than things financially).
Also, it looks like her punishment from her last incident isn’t dissuading her desire for revenge, that fire is going to burn her (and anyone near her) more than she thinks. I’m sure Robin has some sort of karmic retribution planned for those two, or at least a list of those that are being widdled down to the most fitting one.
Daniel here. How old are they all again? I remember most of the main cast are 14, I’m guessing Lady Crazy here is 14 too. I gotta confess, part of me wants her to cause some noticeable damage in a failed or even “successful” attempt at revenge…
Hear me out. If Lala causes enough damage, there is a pretty good chance that Police will become involved, and if this IS the final straw for Liz as many suspect, Liz will be in a position to give the Police not only all the details of this revenge attempt, but all the other attempts, along with the entire backstory. And at 14 years old plus her track record, there is a strengthening chance Lady Crazy here could face Children’s Court, get ordered to attend psychiatric counseling as well as Community Service, maybe some other programs to help her sort herself out…
Revenge is never a good thing, that’s true. Larissa, though, I don’t think she will learn this so easily xD
I can see two words in Larissa’s future. Restraining Order.
And mandatory psychiatric counseling.
If she keeps it up like this, yeah, probably xD
Ya know just thought about this: Larissa being sent to work for her uncle could be her parents making her work off the debt her parents paid to the museum for the statue. Probably not an inconsiderable sum depending on the value of the statue.
Daniel here. Sounds like quite a possibility. Plus potentially an attempt to remove her from maybe running into the other kids who were also involved in the event on both sides, but especially the kids Larissa was trying to target. In other words, an attempt to prevent… pretty much THIS!! At least this hasn’t resulted in another physical confrontation…
…Yet…
It’s mostly because they think it will straighten her attitude. Something that never really works without proper guidance xD
Well so much for her redemption arc. Maybe this will cause the one other girl who didn’t want to go along with the museum malarkey finally break away. Or at least make Liz herself face worse consequences sense she doesn’t seem to learn. Question is what will happen? Will it be damage to property? Disorderly conduct? Public lewdness? Or domestic terrorism?
Going by the comic so far, I highly doubt public lewdness is on the table. (Is that even the right word for that law violation?)
I believe the legal term is “public indecency”.
What, is she gonna strip or depants Kaya (or Kai by accident, they are twins that look quite alike despite being opposite genders) in the middle of a crowd? I feel it’s more likely she’ll try to assault the Romero twins (mostly Kaya) and possibly Cleo along with any of their other friends, maybe even little Jin! That’d be horrible, but Jin is a Mythical Hybrid and a martial arts prodigy so he has a better chance than most Hybrid children his age against an attacker.
I figure she’ll try to sabotage the Romeros’ fish supply; or, she’ll try some other way to embarrass or scuttle their business.
Public indecency is definitely not an option here xD
Larissa having a redemption arc is not very likely at this point anyway :p
What about family-friendly public indecency?
Domestic terrorism wouldn’t be the first thing I’d imagine Larissa doing, but I wouldn’t rule out escalation to that point. Say…road flare on the propane tank.
She’ll probably be thwarted…Jin will turn the cuteness up so much it drives Lala into a diabetic coma, and she’ll wake up in the hospital instead of a jail cell.
Well, maybe the adults in her life as shown here is why she’s like this. But hey, atleast he still has that fun uncle humor.
Food truck rally? Great, they’re going to have to serve chicken Parmesan while racing at 80-120 mph!
You’ve heard of drive-up service? This is drive-by service!
I see her Uncle takes no BS. Good. Unfortunately she seems to suffer from a very bad case of “Can’t learn from her past mistakes”.
