The daily life of two dragons in a human world
There’s power and there’s fire
Rational decision and patent ire
constant wanting and desire;
a temper that walks the wire.
Pushing has become shoving;

Kaya doesn’t often use her power;

That’s the one. And I put that simply because it’s hard to prove you’re the bullied when you’ve not a scratch on you and the bully has a broken collarbone…

Don’t bully a Dragon. (Though tv tropes definition this comes closer to mugging the monster, as the girls are unaware of how awesome Kaya is.)
Fire breath, enhanced strength, tough scales. The twins are awesome.

I’ve got a couple of questions about the abilities of Hybrids…
1: Can the dragon twins (and I guess Cleo) use their tails as a third leg for extra stability?
2: Are there any Hybrids that can fly?
– When it comes to question 1 I know that one of the moves that a Kangaroo can use involves rocking back on its tail so it can kick with both hind legs at the same time…
Don’t know if it would be strong enough to act as a third leg, may not have enough compressive strength. May still be used for assisted support and stability though. And would definitely be used for balance.

I think it would be possible to do that kangaroo thing, but it would take practice.
There will definitely be hybrids that fly.
Human sized characters which can fly? I see you don’t go for realism. That would require really BIG wings.

I don’t think they realize she’s a dragon. One of them (apparently Larissa) shouted “HEY, LIZARD!” when confronting her in yesterday’s strip, remember? Given how rare mythical hybrids are in this world, “dragon” wouldn’t be someone’s logical first assumption on meeting the twins. Lizard is more a likely assumption.

Kaya is ready to defend her new friend, as long as she opens up to the possibility, as she did here.

I didn’t want to needlessly drag things out, as so many stories do with this kind of development.
This is actually a question I have; were the twins ever physically attacked? I’m thinking about the kids in their old town. If they are being bullied by a larger group the and they don’t have good control over their strength yet, that could have gone badly.
They were mostly just avoided, never attacked.

Well Kaya certainly looks badass in panel six… An annoyed dragon, no matter how cute, isn’t to play with, and it seems at least two of the girls has realized that. And they haven’t even figured out she can breathe fire yet. Oh well, there’s no hurry to show them all her tricks.

She is a dragon, not a lizard. There’s quite a few differences. Keep being rude and she may demonstrate….
An important thing: notice how Cleo is shocked too. This tells us that having super-strength is actually NOT a common hybrid feature.
