He could do it on his own
but teamwork plays the game
and, as ever, when Rex is wild,
everything else is seeming tame.
He lifts the Knight up higher,
bypassing the other team’s Rook.
When it comes to strategy,
Rex has read the odd Chess book.
The chase is on now, I think;
it’s the Dragon vs the Bunny.
Which way will it fall, this chase?
I bet it’s going to be funny…
Hup hup hup! To the air!
Teamwork! But how will Rex and Benji get around the great Sir Haggis?
Huh, think I’ve figured out how to post as me without Screwball’s name in the way…
If Sir Haggis is distracted enough by the Dragon running up the stairs, they can either follow him up if he chases or slip past in any openings they see if Sir Haggis stays in place. I can see Rex just going past in front like in a basketball game and Benji slipping past the back of his legs while his attention is elsewhere…
Rex could lift Benji just like he did Kai. If Sir Haggis remains in place, Rex could then climb up on his own (he’s tall enough.)
Sir Haggis remaining in place feels likely, because him stonewalling the kids feels to me like it’s fine, but wrestling could be a problematic interaction between teens and adult, especially as large as Sir Haggis appears to be.
That said, as Lord Castigator pointed out, Sir Haggis moving to handle the Dragon would provide an opening as well.
The ceiling is surprisingly high for a basement.
Sir Kai could now escape, but I don’t think he’ll abandon his squires – but now Sir Haggis is surrounded. (Sir Rounded?)
Or the floor is surprisingly low.
It’s a commercial building, and looks like it might be an older one. They sometimes have noticeably deeper basements than most houses.
Hc in general is relatively new, so it might be an old design, but definitely not an old building
Okay, Benjy, you’re up! Distraction Time!!
Start chatting to Sir Haggis about how his last game night with Amy went. While he’s talking he’ll take his eye off of Rex who can then slip around him and go catch up with Kai.
Or break out the puppy dog eyes.
That’s using your fluffy head for once, Rex!
Rex: “Thanks… Hey!”
Something tells me the twins would be good at parkour, mostly Kai’s maneuver here. Amy won’t last long now, Sir Kai has more stamina than her AND he’s super strong. If he moves his legs with enough force, he could reach great speeds, enough to catch a lucky Bunny/bnuy.
They better not try that one on the court however.
They just did. 😉 They tried it on the Crimson Court.
Happy 400th page, Robin! 🥳🥳🥳
World Guide: Move the comma from “fur” in paragraph 1 to the first “wool” in paragraph 2. Also, swap out the second “e” in “sheering” for an “a” in all three such instances.
Then they’ll just go around and bypass instead. Good fun to improvise when the game is afoot!
Ah, yes: Casual reminder that Kai can jump high. 😄
A random thought about the Vote Incentive-
While I can understand getting a full sheering, it would be interesting watching it all grow out again. One month they have cleared skin, next they have a layer of “fur”, next month again it’s longer still, and so on until their next sheering. Design wise, you’d have to work out how fast it grows and what they look like at each stage. If they shave regularly, you might be able to get around that. I can see some going the full body waxing treatment too, and, well, at least they could develop a higher level of pain resistance out of it…
The other thing that comes to mind, what would they do with the wool? Sell it? Use it themselves? “I like the Jumper you’re wearing.” “Yeah, did it all myself. Worked tthe wool, dyed it, knitted it, heck I even grew the wool myself…”?
I would like to like this
There’s still a -human- market for wool. Might cause problems for some sheep farmers, but I doubt it. Remember, the incidence of hybrid births is still fairly low, and sheep are only a small percentage of that.
Now I have the mental image of a sheep farmer with a Sheep Hybrid child, having to privately use their sheering skills to keep their kid’s wool under control, then grading & sorting it with the actual sheep wool and nobody ever noticing, with even experts not being able to tell the difference…
Except for the occasional random item stuck in the wool. Not many sheep have access to jellybeans… 😋
🙂 🙂 🙂
Not to mention the predyed wool. It would take extra effort together the cotton candy pink out.
Misha voice: “NO PARKOUR IN THE SHOP.”
Rex: “The Shrimp Scamper. Evasion tactic with a shorter basketball player. I learned it from watching Spud Webb.”
