Second panel: “… new stuff. I don’t …” should be “… new stuff, I don’t …” for better sentence structure, since Kaya isn’t really making two complete and separate thoughts.

I just noticed that your dragons don’t have scales. Prior to reading this comic, I always pictured a half-dragon form to be something like this. The absence of wings is probably very convenient to Kai and Kaya (and the artist), but the absence of scales probably decreases their defensive capability. Of course, for a (magic?) system like this, defense probably isn’t as important as it would be in EGS or a similar comic.
It’s been mentioned in the comments (not the comic proper) that Kai and Kaya have a skin/scale mesh which is why it’s not as visible as say Cleo.

Like Blue_Elite said, they have a mixture where they scales aren’t all that visible. It’s also a design choice :p
They aren’t armored or bullet proof or anything, but they rarely cut themselves by accident and they can resist heat for a while.

hey robin i have a question will their be disable characters who have blindness,Osteogenesis imperfecta,autism,marfan syndrome ect?

well i was curious if robin will have characters with disability i’m not saying to make the comic more dramatic i’ve seen people living normal lives despite their disability like nick vujicic, Abby And Brittany Hensel

As disabled person myself (close to deaf + bunch of other minor stuff related), I don’t feel such things would add to the story & generate way too much trouble for the authors if they don’t have personal experience with people afflicted by disabilities.
It also requires great confidence to add it into your story, as it will always generate flak from people, who find the representation of whatever disbaled person ‘offensive’
The problem I notice is very often no the disabled person not liking it, but commentors going full White Knight mode & making the creators feel bad about their choice, fully ignoring that said disabled persons actually can enjoy the portrayal.
Keep in mind, we’re people too & like all people we do make jokes & get to be all silly, the humour can be crass at times for outsiders who don’t always understand why we can laugh & joke about such terrible things.
I don’t have any plans for those right now, and like others have said, it takes a great deal of knowledge to depict those decently. I have no experience with disabled people, so I would have a hard time working with a character like that.
That said, never say never, I did think about something like that for the comic once, but decided against it at the time. So who knows :p
I could see a misdiagnosis…some animals can do some strange things with their body…hamsters can squeeze through very tight spaces, maybe that’d be mistaken for Ehler’s-Danlow’s in a hybrid. Maybe a horned toad hybrid bleeding from the eye would be thought to have hemophilia.
Osteogenesis imperfecta would be kinda deep…I remember hearing about one case on TV where a father was accused of beating his infant child because the kid had broken bones in various stages of healing, and he kept pleading his innocence. An insightful physician ran a genetic test on the child…osteogenesis imperfecta. The fractures were pathological, not traumatic.

You could consider putting a big letters announcement in the same image as the comic (below the strip), so that even people who skip the description will see it. Considering it’s a new thing, and the button can be easily overlooked…

I remember ‘Faux Pas’ holding strips (non canon and out of story) where the kittens break the 4th wall and start ‘playing’ with the buttons underneath…

Alright. Time to hire the world’s leading basketball instructor to help train Kai. He’s got the strength to make some serious shots. Now he just needs to learn to actually use it to his advantage. Good thing Kaya managed to make friends with Cleo.
I am actually hoping that wouldn’t be the case, if for nothing else than to avoid Cleo’s money being a deux ex machine.
My guess is that “the world’s leading basketball instructor” **IS** her dad!
That WOULD be an awesome twist. I guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out with the next comic release.

Hah. I don’t think we have any other way unless you decide you want to start writing out the story for the next comic before actually finishing the comic. But where’s the fun in that? These comics are always worth the wait.

I’d have no real objection to a hired -trainer-. After all, Kai would still have to take the win himself. He’d just have a little personal training rather than just what he’d pick up in general.
Somehow I feel like Robin has something a bit more…interesting than that in store though. 🙂
