Benji might be thinking Kai’s nuts
for getting into this mission
but he’ll stand alongside Kai;
as friend, that’s his position.

Also, Kai needs a hoard of gold. Completely unrelated to the current situation, but a hoard of gold would increase his prestige, and avoid situations like this.
Also, just noticed, but in face side view (pretty sure there’s a word for this) benjamin’s mouth continues on the other side of the face, while kai’s ends in the shown half :O (panels 3 & 4)
It’s a stylistic choice. It depends on the type of expression shown and at what angle we see the face. In the profile (that’s the word you were looking for) I like to have a closed outline with the mouth like Kai’s, although, if he were shouting, I would draw his mouth open, showing more space between the jaws.
I hope Kai can find the Shimmerglobe and Hell B-Ball. ‘Cause at this rate he’s gonna need the additional firepower to beat Rex (huh, never thought about it until now but given my reference that name is now EXTREMELY relevant).
Or just a regular basketball would help him out at this point :p

I am glad that Benji got indignation about the “stay” command. As I thought it was a bit… racially insensitive? While I’m sure Kai is no stanger to people be insensitive towards him, there is probably a limited number of ways you could put down a dragon, as most media see them as badasses.
Considering that they’ve been only friends for a day (or days), maybe Kai should hold off doggy jokes.
When Kai is mad, he doesn’t really think before saying stuff. It’s one of his bad qualities.
Don’t forget. Two weeks before this strip (our time), or mere minutes ago their time, Kai had just used “Doggo” as an insult, presumably in Benji’s hearing.
He’s setting himself up for an ass-kicking isn’t he?
