Volubteering as Catacomb Master for a bunch of kids who are just learning C&D? Benji must have the patience of a saint.
Benji is very patient with kids ^^
And where’s Rex? Is this the sort of shop he doesn’t want to be seen in?(!)
He’s on his way, don’t worry ^^
Cute little bun! I’m guessing 8 or 9 given her size, especially compared to Kai and Benji. Looking forward to seeing what the challenge is Kai will have to overcome.
Actually, she’s 12. I may have exaggerated her smol-ness a bit xD
Although, when I was Kai’s age, me and my friends would regularly see 12 years old just starting in junior high that were the same height as Amy compared to us, so I don’t think it’s too much of a difference. The new generation of kids just seemed to get smaller xD
Don’t worry, she’s just small for her age.
I have to admit that at first I thought that’s a huge height difference for 2-3 years, before remembering that at age twelve I myself was a head smaller than my fourteen years old sister, who was rather small herself 😉
And so we meet sweet Amy,
ears bigger than her head;
as the question is to be found
inside her own homestead.
The planner researched well,
including Benji in her plot;
I wonder if Kaya’s clue is Cleo
as she’s worked with her a lot?
They seem to have lost a Rex;
some shops he won’t be seen in?
Perhaps he fears, if his fans see him,
he’ll need to respond with a grin?
She’s soooo CUTE!!!!!
(I have to say she looks kinda familiar. Didn’t you do a character bio for her as a vote incentive some time ago?)
Oh, I probably did. I can’t remember the exact voting incentive, but I’m very sure I showed her design before. I created her years ago, after all.
Cute bunny! I like her already. She seems like she’s be fun to hang out and play games with. (Please don’t think I’m creepy for saying that)
Just don’t play against her in games of chance. She’s called the resident lucky bunny for a reason xD
Intriguing. Is she ta’veren, or related to Teela Brown?
Has she been banned from any lotteries or casinos yet? No, wait, that would be bad luck. Silly me!
She also is too young to play gambling games like that xD
For now.
And Kai gets a new friend for his birthday! Looks like they caught Amy in a good mood, her tongue can be as sharp as her teeth, just ask her friend Moon Moon- I mean River. I wonder how she’s gonna react to Rexy being a member of the Kai party… Will she turn into a blushing puddle of petite 12 year old bunny girl? Should we tell her to check if her fly is down before she talks (or at least tries to) to Rex?
Don’t worry, she knows how to dress properly xD
If we rub her lucky rabbit feet, do we get good luck? And not just an angry bunny?
The ears look more inviting. Same caveat re making her mad of course.
I think Kai just met a new extended friend.
Yup, he did ^^
Yanno, for “one in a thousand births” (first page) being mutants…aka: farrrrrrrrr less than one percent, there are an awful hell of a lot more then 0.1% of them in the background and everywhere else, really. Looking at the comics, you’d think that ratio was reversed.
That’s because this is Hybrid City. A city that went out of its way to actively invite families with hybrids to come and live there. The ration of hybrids is way higher in this city than in other parts of the world. Just one hybrid in an entire town is not out of the ordinary.
Boi, do I have some numbers for you. Or I would if I had more than ten minutes on my break. Not going to ask you to scour the archive comments, but I’ve broken down a lot of the numbers for rate of hybrid birth, estimated population of HC, estimated hybrid population growth over time, even the odds of a pair of red headed fraternal hybrid twins (literal one in a million on that one, btw) granted that particular number wasn’t perfect since I didn’t know the standard:mythical hybrid ratio… Now that I think of it there are 8 mythicals in HC… probably an overrepresentation considering the nature of the city, but I could get a ballpark estimate with that number and HC’s general location… Well I know what I’m doing when I get home.
Where roughly is Hybrid City located? Like East Coast, West Coast or Great Lakes area (North Coast)?
I believe that got answered in the World Guide recently, east coast somewhere close to New York City if I remember right.
Could be a small just outside of Metropolis.
Cannot edit posts. Small / medium sized city.
Belvarius got it right.
Could easily be a skvader mythical hybrid.
Amy? Why? I don’t see a single feather on her.
Dragons without wings were earlier mistaken for lizards. A hybrid that looks like a rabbit may not be a rabbit. A unicorn hybrid without a horn or a Pegasus hybrid without wings may be mistaken for a horse (or something related to them).
I will probably try to identify all new characters as potentially mythical hybrids though some may be more of a reach than others.
That was the first mythical rabbit like creature I found though others may be more likely.
Let’s see if Amy will be a good luck bunny ^_^
Board game references I recognized (and could read) – Wingspan, GloomHaven and (probably) Rails & Sails. Could someone add to the list?
I got so excited when I realized what game they were playing! ^_^ Others I can identify: Exploding Chinchillas = Exploding Kittens, Cards for Hybrids = Cards Against Humanity (LOL), BattleAxe 45K = Warhammer 40K, Train to Ride = Ticket to Ride. Werekittens might be Werewolf? Seems a bit of a stretch.
Panel 7: There should be a comma at the end of “school”.
World Guide, Jenny’s dialogue 3: “boxershorts” should be two words.
Paragraph 3: There should be a comma at the end of “weather”.
The Start of the last sentence of the 3. paragraph should be: “If things get to cold…”
Seconding the ‘boxer shorts’ (I don’t feel entitled to judge commas in a foreign language)
How did I miss that?! Also, you left off an “o”.
I could blame that on not being a native speaker – but to be fair: it’s fifth grade English (= first year of English), so I really should remember that. 😉
Jenny: I wonder, wouldn’t actually some clothes have so wide sleeves it wouldn’t be concern? I mean something like those buddhist monk robes …
(Search for “Women Buddhist Monk Dress Robe Shaolin Gown Frock Long Meditation Summer Loose”)
If a lion dog mythical hybrid by existing and that they exist in pairs caused a partner to be then…
“In Aztec mythology, a pantheon of four hundred rabbit gods known as Centzon Totochtin, led by Ometotchtli or Two Rabbit, represented fertility, parties, and drunkenness.”
I just love the idea of someone seeing rabbits everywhere that others can’t see.
As for Jenny’s problem with sleeves in the World Guide, it has to be said that cloacks and mantles, tough out of fashion now, had been used for centuries to stay warm. They are surprisingly effective, and able to keep you warm in any sub-artic climate.
Nifty wallpaper, although it almost looks like they’re only noticing the camera for the first time.
Gotta love game stores for the art and the interesting concepts. I’m still a holdout White Wolf fan (old and new World of Darkness).
