Hah! The people on-stage are the audience; the “show” is down on the floor. 🙂
Misha’s getting a little more aggressive than she should be towards the end there. Might want to back off a bit before she makes it worse instead of better.
It shows they are actually pretty used to each other already :p
At least she’s not barking (yet ?)
With the shouting & raised voices, at least they’re in a closed room that’s relatively sound proofed.
That’s what I’m thinking anyway.
Depends on if the door, I mean wall, is open still. They could have an audience other than the one on stage.
I think they are standing in front of the closed wall in the first panel – although the boxes on the right side seem to block it from opening to 90°
Misha recalls that she can bark
when threatened by aggression.
I sure Miss Millar knew of this
and won’t end Misha’s session.
I don’t like this line she uses;
the one on ‘betraying their trust’.
Who lays such strict rules down
without a reason they must?
Being resolute is important
but so is bending where able.
After all, all they’re asking
is the use of books and a table.
The problem seems to be that she -didn’t- ask. But, since Mandy was allowed in, IF Misha can calm down and deal politely, I’d be on Mrs. Miller letting the two extra friends in anyway. 🙂
I don’t understand why, if this is finals week, did they not put tables and chairs in the event room to handle the overflow? Seems kind of unfriendly to have all that additional space and not allow it to be used. If the librarian has enough time to chastise Misha, they have enough time to keep an eye on the additional space.
It’s decided higher up in the food chain. Miss Miller is not the head librarian.
Probably a number of reasons such as protecting the equipment in the room for starters, especially if they don’t have the extra staff to watch the room during this time. They also might not have the extra tables and chairs to make use of the room for study. It could just be the library owners or board of trustees are just strict about rooms being used for things other than their intended purpose.
And Robin beat me to it. Well I am a bit slow typing on the phone.
Occupancy limits also likely play a role in the decision here. These are usually defined by how many people need to exit the space in an emergency. The Library has a fixed amount of reserved seating and doesn’t allow studying outside that area, this is likely to keep the Library population within a pre-defined limit, often related to the Occupancy limit (while allowing for other patrons to be in the stacks looking for books).
Aside from what appears to be windows, the event room does not appear to contain additional emergency exits, so anything set up in that space would be expected to use the standard exits. The false wall is also likely intended to remain open while the room is in use as a result.
I expected Misha’s argument to quickly devolve.

Russians always know when to go on the offensive!
Misha Uses Logic. Its Highly Effective! 😀
Miss Miller strikes me as one who likes the rules, but also bends to them if presented to her in the right context… and Misha has that part down 🙂
Looks like Misha was able to prove the narration wrong, that’s rather impressive! Perhaps Kai and Kaya could also explain that they weren’t informed about needing a reservation just to study at the library until they arrived, though it’s probably best to let Kai explain, he’s more diplomatic. And perhaps the librarians could’ve put a sign up at the front desk or something? Misha is a loyal and good girl for helping out her friends (even if they just became so), I’m pretty sure Mrs. Miller would find that admirable about the Russian pup. I hope that they reach a compromise. And maybe hold back on the borking a bit, Misha, do t want a bork storm to reveal the existence of a secret room to the less scrupulous library goers.
Panel 6: “And aren’t you the one that spent two whole hours explaining /to/ me how important education is?”
I was told this was actually intentional.
According to the proofreader:
Kai wanted Misha to omit the preposition
Probably because shes not actually that fluent in english. And when she is angry she might make mistakes. Which is totally believable in speech
Kai? Are you sure you don’t mean Robin?
Yep absolutely.
Robin calls himself Kai or DragonKai on all sorts of social media.
Now I just want to meet Misha’s girlfriend.
My guess is her

…Can’t say I was expecting a well-founded argument as to why she was breaking the rules, but consider me impressed.
I have the feeling Misha’s at least as surprised as you are.
Why not study at that gamer dungeon place or with Cleo or something?
Misha doesn’t know about the Cleo option. The gamer dungeon place is mostly filled with gamers who aren’t having to study for their finals.
Smol Russian Doggo go BRRRRR….
Misha is all in on the dogged pursuit of educational excellence… 😏
Shouting at your boss never ends well, in my experience. Hopefully, Misha can take a step back, take a deep breath or two, clear her head, and politely ask to let her friends use a table. It doesn’t look like the room was being used anyway, so as long as they can safely get down from the stage, I can see potential for things to get better.
