Unrelated, but the vote incentive and Gamer Dragons preview images appear to have been nuked from Discord~
Ok, so Kai is startled that the Koi-Girl is offering him a valentine, (and acting like it’s no big deal, or something?) but why does Kaya look angry about it? Because she thinks Kai deserves to be paid full attention to while getting a valentine? Because she wants one too? Care to describe what’s going on here, please? 🙂
I imagine it’s a gender-flipped version of #MySisterIsOffLimits – this complete stranger (as far as Kaya knows) is flirting with her brother, and Kaya is not about to let that go anywhere without AT LEAST an interrogation.
It’s described in the discord what’s going on. The Koi is named Maya Su and is the daughter of a rich family who believes in the prophecies that if a koi touches a dragon’s tail, they must get married and bring good fortune to the family. Maya touched Kai’s tail after bumping into him, and has been trying to win him over ever since (much to the dismay of Kaya, who sees her as nothing but a creepy stalker).
Judging by the fact that she’s looking away from him with her eyes closed as she extends the Valentine towards him, it looks like she’s only doing it to please her superstitious parents.
Naaa, it’s a “congratulations, you have the honour of being my boyfriend and future husband. Here, you may take this gift” kinda attitude. She’s “high society”, complete with snobby attitude from memory…
Do you know what episode they bumped into each other?
Kaya is the brick of friendship;
never subtle and often thrown.
It’s a testament to others
that we see how much she’s grown.
Still not thinking before talking
but more ready to admit she’s wrong.
It’s her tenacity in adversity
that shows why she’s so strong.
Try speaking Russian, dearest Kaya
and see just how far you get.
You don’t want to make a frenemy
or cause your friend list to reset…
*Snickers.* I’d enjoy Kaya learning a bit of Russian. Imagine the shenanigans. And on a related note, Cleo’s likely to hit it off with Misha due to already knowing Russian.
…but yeah, Kaya’s about as subtle as a bright green fire-breathing brick. Next page is going to be awkward.
Yet the bluntness of kaya has advantages. It leaves nothing not-spoken. No problems-floating-around-that-you-have-not-to-mention when she’s interacting with her friends.
Misha has problems with Reading comprehension, and is one or two classes behind? Ok! Understood. Let’s pass to the next subject.
I love Forces. Lighting, levitating objects, mind control, future sight, long range choking, crazy jumping powers, and learning to build lightsabers!
I think this is more about electromagnetic force, gravity and weak and strong interaction.
…
Ok, let’s make them cool: lightning, black holes, nuclear bombs and … ok, we don’t turned strong interaction into anything cool yet but when we do …
Based on my own time in school, at their age it would be forces measured in newtons – inclined planes, levers, pulleys, friction, acceleration, and how to calculate the resultant of forces acting in different directions.
I’m their age
I can confirm it’s physics
*insert puke emoji*
But physiques are nice! Especially femal- What? Wait; you mean-? ew.
Nevermind.
May the Forces be with you.
🙂
That wallpaper is cute, and I would love to see that new character make a more official appearance in the comic. From the look of things, that new character in the wallpaper splash is probably a Koi fish, which is a kind of carp; there’s a Chinese tale about a carp managing to swim up a waterfall and become a dragon, which is also stated to be an inspiration for Magikarp and Gyrados in the Pokemon franchise (even Gyrados doesn’t have the Dragon-type, even in its Mega Evolution).
It probably would be funny for the twins to meet another hybrid based on the Lung (Chinese Dragon) or Ryu (Japanese Dragon, also the foundation for Japanese dragon-based names). But in my opinion, it could be more interesting for the twins to experience changes during their maturation that cause them to develop different draconic traits, maybe a blend of Italian dragon (since they are of Italian ancestry) and some other kind of dragon (having them both split off by taking on a few properties of other cultural dragons could be fun to see with them diverging from each other while still remaining similar in some way).
Kaya uses blunt force honesty, it was super effective!
Kaya just wants to make more friends.
And she is as direct & blunt as ever…
Kai: “Here we go again.”
I wonder what forces Misha is going to be studying, the basic forces or the 4 Fundamental Forces… Looks like Misha lucked out, she has two extra science tutors to help, one great at math and the other applied physics. This poor doggo may not like science, but she has friends who’ll help make it easier and possibly more fun for her to learn.
Kaya really needs a mental filter, she’s gonna end up hurting someone’s feelings. Perhaps Kai should invest in a muzzle for his sister…
Wallpaper explanation: “I /had/ forgotten to post this here…”
Oh, quit being so childish. He’s Belgian, and incredibly busy. He’s bound to make typos here and there. And it’s not like we proof read literally everything he does.
Also, on your name, since you care so much about grammar: You forgot to capitalize “JPrime.”
A friend pointed out that I may have been a bit harsh. I promise that was not my intent. I do come off a bit harsh at times, but it’s not on purpose.
Ah, sort of like Kaya with her social interactions too.
Since I’m from Germany, “Science” feels like a weird subject. ^^
We always had physics, chemistry, biology as separate subjects.
At least I guess “science” does mean “natural science” and not mean “social science”, which would be history, geography, politics and ethics.
It’s like you get tested in “languages”. 😉
Generally, in North America, we teach a Science course with a variety of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering topics until we get to grade 11, when the physical sciences get each split out to their own courses. Grade 11 Physics is where we start looking a force as a vector, and bring all sorts of math to bear in our pursuit of understanding. This looks like where these people are.
Misha gets such a smile on her face when she is talking about Mandy. Girl is in loooove.
Force: Where a magician asks you to pick an object, which appears to be a free choice, but you really have no choice at all; you end up doing exactly as the magician wants you to do.
Force (Physics): A push or a pull. F=ma. Interactions between particles that can influence the movement of each other, communicated by force-carrying particles, like photons, bosons and gluons. No gravitons, as far as we can tell, so gravity really isn’t a force, even though it behaves like one; gravity is just an interaction of matter with distorted space-time.
Apparently Misha is not overly fond of.. “Science.” I’ll just add that to my list of things about which -Not- to ask Misha. 😉
When do you think that you will continue the Jesse’s Adventure series? It’s been almost two years!
I’ll settle for any new vote incentive.
I expect he’s still catching up with other stuff after his sick time. Vote Incentive will happen in time.
Besides; could be worse. I regularly vote for one comic that has -never had- a vote incentive! 🙂
That’s true. I can’t wait! It was a very fun series to read.
