Angry woof is not only angry, but is distracted.
Not a good combination out there on the field :p
Well, that surprised the chief
as the ball flies high and deep.
The query of jumping pops up
as the ball sails all the way down.
The Captain makes a shriek
as his thoughts turn to defeat.
A fleeting notice for sure
as Kai proceeds to beat feet.
The ball still has to be caught.
The point is still to be scored.
I hope he recalls all he was taught
and his game plan isn’t flawed…
It’s almost as if the Captain doesn’t know what Kai is capable of because he assumed a shorty wouldn’t be able to contribute anything to the team…
Well, he indeed doesn’t know what Kai is capable of, as he never played against Kai before. Shame on him for getting tricked though :p
“How can this kid jump THAT high?”
“Springs, son”
Haha, imagine Kai having springs installed under his shoes xD
Could be worse for jumping, he could have been a cat, jump 5x body height…
Nice action shot. Guess wolfy’s height advantage doesn’t mean much against people who can jump. *hums ‘I believe I can fly’*
Well, Kai does have the surprise effect when he can jump higher than normal.
I like the first panel… Close-up of Kai on the Jumbotron! 🙂
Thanks ^^
I’m not even sure what to comment. You guys took most of the good ones. But I refuse to be left out! I do find it kind of amusing that Rex went from smug “He’s gonna suck” to “What kind of superpowers am I dealing with?!” Robin, I will say the same thing I always do. Keep up the good work! You’re an amazing artist. (Especially compared to my stick figure drawings that are the best I can do.)
Thanks! ^^
Rex really is surprised here. He didn’t expect it at all :p
He is a long, a Chinese dragon. So, of course he can jump that high. It’s nearly flying and they do that without wings.
He doesn’t remind me of a Chinese dragon, because of his loong ears. Typical chinese dragons don’t have those types of ears. Does Robin have any idea?
I didn’t really base Kai and Kaya off of any particular dragon. I went with some fantasy designs and went from there. The hair on the tails is a chinese dragon trait, but they are not chinese dragons. It’s pretty hard to pinpoint any one dragon type to Kai and Kaya since they are not full dragons but rather dragon hybrids.
I keep using the wrong e-mail. This one and I are the same.

Double reply here, folks. Move along.
It is kinda hard to tell since they’re mostly be human with dragon features layered on top.
Fire breath is dominantly European, Oriental dragons are usually spirits of water and weather.
First impression (after some looking) is of a Catalan drac given the lack of wings (vestigial or otherwise)
Side note, there’s a Portuguese dragon (though some stories describe it more like a boogieman) by the name of Coco: a female dragon that mostly targets children and was defeated by cutting off an ear weakening her. Might be coincidence but it would explain the ears, the humanoid shape, Kaya’s impulsive habits that usually wind up with someone on the ground even when she’s being nice, and even her love of chocolate (though that would be more a reference than actual lore)
It’s apparently supposed to be the opposite of a guardian angel, which could possibly be seen in Kai’s more rational nature.
Man… I think I might have gone a little crazy there
The above was meant to be a reply to keep coyote sorry
Nice research, you really looked into it ^^
20 minutes max on Wikipedia really, could have gone MUCH more in depth. Alas I don’t have much free time lately.
Heck it was mostly superficial stuff anyway but at least I got a new favorite dragon and some head cannon out of it.
How Kai can jump that high ?
He’s not the son of the human we’ve seen , but the hidden son of Bellamy the hyena (from One piece) : he’s got the same ability than his real father , by birth
…………………………. I’m out and very away ^_^”
At least I’m not the only one going crazy with the theorist goggles
I’m crazy and i’m happy ^_^
Haha, oh no, how am I gonna explain that to Marco xD
It’s to his wife to explain ^_^”
Well, ir doesn’t need to be the exact father, it can go further from the ascendantory line, just skipped a few generations until it comes together with right genetical pair for the right effect. You was not interested about Darwin’s evolution theory and the genetical heredity in the school?
Why there is always someone trying to be serious when another person tells a joke ? ^_^”
i just figured Kai used his tail as a spring-loaded launcher
Kai is a dragon hybrid , not a marsupilami one XD
Tigger from Winnie the Pooh?

Rex: “I call h@x! He’s got flubber on his shoes!”
Kai’s got good tracking skills to keep his eyes on the ball after hitting it backwards. Also, great action pose.
Green Men Can Jump!!!
