Also does anyone know how to turn a youtube link into an URL???
Find the video you want, go up to the search bar, and then copy and paste. Alternately, there ought to be a thing with most YouTube videos that says share. Click on that and there’s an option called “copy link” which will copy the URL, and then you just paste it where you want to share it to. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the information but I figured it out before I saw this. I asked b/c my school blocked a wholesome Youtuber, TheWaffleGalaxy, & I found a youtube video player after probably 30 minutes of hunting. There’s actually a formula you can use, here’s an example: let’s say the link is *NOTE I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS LINK IS REAL SO IF I SEND YOU TO A CURSED VIDEO I APOLOGIZE* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyb9d_dnII then simply get rid of http://www.&the .com & place a “.” before the “be” in youtube & finally erase the watch?v= an viola you’ve got a URL of https://youtu.be/Hyb9d_dnII. I am now going to check this link to see if it even exists.
Both links are broken. Not sure why you’re posting this here, but I’d like to know how it goes.
The “copy ink” under Share is better because that link should remain usable over time. The one in the search field is not necessarily constant over time. This is the link that was copied to the pasteboard when I hit Copy for a video named “Don’t be a Sucker”
If you want a user or playlist, it is a little different. For example, if I click on the user name for a video, it takes me to a page for the user and the URL in the address field is the location for the user page, In this case, I put The Waffle Galaxy in the search bar for YouTube and it gave a page at https://www.youtube.com/user/TheWaffleGalaxy
I cn click on Playlists at the top of the user page and it will show a list of playlists for the user. Click on View Full Playlist for the desired playlist and it will give you a page for the playlist. For example, clicking on Crash Bandicoot 4 will yield https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-JPD8A3qWVPCRJ8mLHx9vgF9lUMR2yCE You can send this URL to another user. Again, you can go to the page for playlist and there will be a share icon (similar to the forward icon on some mail system). Clicking on the icon will yield a small panel where you can click “Copy” to copy the URL to the playlist. This is probably better than using the URL in the address field.
It appears that using the URL in the address field of the browser may give you a link to remote YouTube library that may not be viewable in all countries. I haven’t been able to confirm this.
That’s a stripped-down version of No Game No Life’s chess match setup!
Hah! that was my first thought as well. Lets see if Kai plays like Sora…
You can’t hide from your fears in dreams;
they know of all of your secrets.
They bring humility to heights
and make stars of all your regrets.
It’s always move and counter-move
when you’re playing against Kaya;
but, on top of this great mountain,
the odds have never been higher.
So can she play in your dreams, mate?
Can she play in the real world?
Your friends are behind you, Sir Kai.
Praying as the games unfold.
gather your wits
And play the game
For if you fail, You shall face the village’s wraith
For you failed to save their precious grass
Trapped in the temple of mountain high
You let out a sigh
For this is just a dream
And now you must awake to a face full of steam
I tried to rhyme, lol.
Wizard’s chess! At least he doesn’t have to be on the playing field.
Im sure if he was actualy playing then it would be an RPG and ScaredOfTheBath would be telling monsters to hide in a dungeon.
Is this going to turn the chess scene from no game no life?
If it does. There’s going to be a twist. Robin’s writing style be like that.
Kai not a fan of strategy games eh? Guess he better hope Scarabeth ain’t so good herself!
Considering she’s running INSIDE his brain …
No yu-gi-oh? aaaaaw
I guess I can scratch evil and insane from the list of tiny-not-kaya traits, that would have made the game battle chess with the villagers as pieces ^^
Agh, chess. And not even chess with your hands on the board, but spoken chess. If Kai is worried enough about it being chess in the first place, he’s absolutely fricked with a game of chess in which he needs to give the pieces coordinates. All he can hope for is for Scarabath to make a cocky move that lets him perform fool’s mate or scholar’s mate.
Nah. Kai is rational enough to make crop circles and solve Rubik’s cube. He won’t have any trouble with coordinates. What’s difficult in chess is the strategy, not the coordinate system.
Let’s see. Lightning attack from Black? I’ve done it before, but it is trickier that doing it from White. Sure, mate in 4, so long as she does not move the king’s bishop’s pawn.
Hooo boy Kai. Don’t mess this up now! I’ve been playing chess for years and I still get confused trying to think about the notation sometimes. This is not a great challenge for someone who admits they aren’t very good with the game to begin with. Fortunately it’s still a dream so hopefully Kai can do something similar to the dance off. “If I believe I can play chess, then I can play chess!” He does at least know the rules. Either way this should be a fun scene to watch, especially for those of us who have an appreciation for the game. I think it was a good choice of final challenge Robin, and am sure you’ll manage to put a good amount of drama into it. Keep up the good work, and as always, stay awesome!
Why the heck did it put my comment here? Sorry man.
Scarabath: “How about a game of chess?”
Kai: “Later. Let’s play global thermonuclear war.”
Jeese’s Adventure: Calling it: Those aren’t pelts.
What ??? Kai dreaming to be in a game he rarely play ?? 0_o
Where is ron Weasley when we need him ? XD
I’m pretty sure this is a No Game No Life reference, Magical chess is a game that made an appearance in one episode
Magical chess is a game that has appeared in every franchise with magic that has a writer who has played chess.
either HP or NGNL
Also Jesse’s adventure: are those ashes?
Then in the middle of the match, Kaya plays the C’thun card as she did in Hearthstone or the “tail” as in the Rock-Paper-Stone, or something like that XD
Really like poor, worried Loli here. AND Scarabath’s close-up. 🙂
hmmm…you would assume that it’d be using standard rules for chess…but the rules themselves haven’t been stated yet, so theoretically, you aren’t bound by standard chess movesets. You could potentially just order the whole army to bull rush right down the middle, and capture the king 😛 Will have to wait and see how this turns out
I see that the host is taking WHITE, so that she goes first, & Kai’s at still-more of a disadvantage.
Wait-A-Minute…
…Kai needs to have her state ALL_THE_RULES, to make sure that this is not some “Fairy-Chess” variation of standard play.
There are plenty of variants that only differ from standard Chess in their rules, such as “Madhouse Chess”.
Does she permit “En-Passant”?, or “Castle-ing”?, & if so, how does she deal with them?
Do Pawns “Promote”?
If so, are they allowed to become Queens, or are they limited to resurrecting a previously-taken piece?
Kai — take NOTHING for granted, here!
Actually, the first move doesn’t confer any innate advantages in chess. In fact, it actually confers a minor DISadvantage, in the sense that fool’s mate requires your opponent to make two moves (and scholar’s mate requires them to make four), which means that your opponent has to waste less time before checkmate if you make those foolish mistakes. Having the second move is also a minor boon to those who play reactively rather than proactively, as they’re less likely to make such foolish mistakes themselves if they don’t have the first move.
Your comment about custom rulesets is legitimate, but I think Robin mentioned somewhere on the last page that Scarabath intended to show her skill rather than stack the deck, so I’d assume a standardized ruleset.
-En passant- and castling are both tactics that are known to just about anyone who knows more than how the pieces move. If they are not permit in this particular game, it’s more likely that Kai attempts to perform them and Scarabath says “No” than Scarabth performs them and Kai says “what was that”, if he has any experience with chess.
The presence of pawn promotion is universal, end of line. As far as what promotions they are permit, it tends to depend on the availability of pieces; I’ve never seen a digital chess game that didn’t allow multiple queens via pawn promotion simply because of the fact that a digital medium isn’t limited by the number of physical pieces. That being said, it looks like the “magical” aspect of this chess set is simply the verbal commands; unless there are spare pieces lined up against the fourth wall, I’d wager that replacing taken pieces is the extent.
The first move definitely gives an advantage. At a high level, white has a win rate of about 55%.

Oh I see. This is an analog version of that Battle Chess video game. Better keep your eye on the queen. That character is seriously OP. Probably the self-insert of whoever made the game.
Thus speaks an entity who continually got out-witted by Colonel Jack O’Neill…
“Just say where the pieces need to go and it will happen,” huh?
So, theoretically, he can just say “checkmate to white king” and win the game?
In theory you can, it’s called a “Fool’s Mate.” If Scarabath doesn’t catch it, Kai wins.
i have realized: in the comic where the necrodancer was introduced in gamer dragons, kaya was an elementalist. is that what inspired this? also side note: we need to have a background rap that starts with ‘weathermancer VS necrodancer’

I bet Kai would have preferred “Tetris” or “Worms” ? ^_^”
Knowing the author/artist, I’d bet on “Worms”. 😉
