Bust[icket]ed!
Amusing.
Busted by their dad
in maximum exposure
because, as a good son
he gives mom full disclosure.
They can hide no secret
from their tricksy style pa.
They forget that, in cunning,
he made them what they are.
The’ll get themselves inside soon;
where their party is beginning.
And that poor guy they hit…
I wonder if his head’s still ringing?
Diolch yn fawr iawn.
Geez, the twins can’t get away with anything under Marco’s watch…which is a good thing, really, but wow.
Not for nothing, Marco *does* own a coffee mug saying “#1 Dragon Tamer”, after all…
Their Dad seems to be pretty on top of whatever chaos those 2 cause, even if it’s purely by chance. He caught them with the cro circle back in their original town https://www.twindragonscomic.com/comic/caught/ , and now this? But will he be able to keep up as they get into their later teens…?
Oh, and as a side note, I’ve noticed the chapter listing on the side is a bit muddled up, thought I’d let you know. Hopefully it’s a quick fix…
I am shocked, shocked. Well, maybe not that shocked, Marco has down in the past to be quite investigative when it comes to his kids, I guess it comes from experience being Emilio’s brother. Sabrina may not have understood all of it, but luckily for her Marco can finish filling her in later.
Damages made up on the spot? Yeah, that guy had that tackle coming if he’s that much of a pompous jerk. Hopefully this means Kai and Kaya won’t be in too much trouble, especially since they already apologized to that jerk. And the poor twins are posing in perfect sync… Well, that jerkwad with now expensive hat better get what he deserves later.
“Yeah, that guy had that tackle coming if he’s that much of a pompous jerk” …Really? Really? He had being tackled and scammed coming to him because he’s “pompous”? I don’t think he deserved “tickets to the big game” just for getting tackled(that was a stupid promise, overkill if it were honest), but he also didn’t deserve getting scammed for it, and he’s rightfully mad. Two wrongs require more right to resolve than one.
What you are suggesting is overcorrection in the other direction.
There’s no indication of “what” damages were “made up on the spot”, but I doubt it was “they broke my leg” or anything unfeasible/verifiable(maybe “my back hurts badly now and I’m going to have to go see a practitioner” or “I called up my boss to invite him before realising I got scammed and now he’ll be mad” or “I missed my ride due to delays they caused”), and as such I doubt it was steep. I imagine “a very expensive hat” comes out on par with the tickets to a game, which he was promised(I know hats can get very very expensive, but I doubt Marco’s dropping a grand on this stuff).
At the end of the day, the man deserved the right to be angry, an apology and *maybe*(maybe) a little compensation for two people flying tackling him to the ground from two directions(it’s hard to balance these things). The twins deserved punishment for tackling a stranger in a way that could’ve lead to serious injury(also committing, in Kaya’s case a finable offence– I imagine, it certainly is in other countries/airports –in getting on the luggage conveyer and possibly damaging luggage). The man also deserved the right to be angry, an apology and maybe compensation being scammed(which’d add up to more than a mere apology with the other offence). While I believe he got “too much”, the idea that he’s the jerkwad here and not Emilio is ludicrous.
Said he was “a” jerkwad, not “the” jerkwad. 😉 🙂
Sorry Ed, but that’s not quite correct. Turt is defending the twins actions in relation to “that jerkwad” (aka “a pompous jerk”, aka “that jerk”), claiming he “had that tackle coming” and hoping the twins don’t get much punishment.
(There’s a bit more defense of the twins/presenting them as undeserving of the results of their actions and maligning of their victim/hoping “that guy gets what’s coming to him” on the discord that you’re likely missing.)
To be clear that’s “had that tackle coming” retroactively(as a result of his actions following the tackle and Emilio’s actions), not due to anything beforehand.
I am only going by what’s in the comments -here.- What goes on in other places is irrelevant to the conversation here.
TBF, most of that can be parsed from just this comment section, we just went more in depth in Discord. That said, sure, it wasn’t specified that he’s the *only* jerkwad, but the implications were ones I objected to(we’ve since stated our stances and moved on though ^^).
Well, Emilio comes off as rash to me. He did lie to the guy instead of trying to apologize further and he prevented Kai from finishing his apology. I know I’d be upset if someone were to tackle me like that, but hopefully I’d be more reasonable than that tourist.
Plus, tourist guy’s behavior (only calming down when he’s offered expensive compensation/association football tickets and making up damages on the spot) don’t really paint him in a flattering light. He comes off as materialistic and greedy because of that, plus he isn’t shown any sympathetic qualities other than being tackled due to an honest mistake.
As I’ve said before, I hope the twins aren’t in too much trouble, given that Kai apologized to the tourist and was dragged away by his uncle whilst doing so. I agree that the twins did something wrong, but they did recognize their mistake and were more than willing to apologize to the guy.
Emilio may have actually made things worse for Marco. IMHO he should have watched from just outside “That Guy’s” notice and only stepped in if things got out of hand. The guy knew he was dealing with kids. He might have fussed at them, but likely wouldn’t have made monetary demands unless he ordered them to take him to their parents, and even that would likely have turned out better than with Emilio.
Yeah, a lot of those were things I opined too ^^
My remaining point of contention with the twins is that they didn’t object to Emilio’s actions and seemed okay/supportive of it(but I’ve already brought that up before in the Discord, and I think we’ve beaten that horse to death ^^). At this point though, we’ll see how it pans out when the chapter comes out in under a day 🙂
Heh, busted after all! Marco has some pretty good timing.
Marco could become a good TV-detective, waiting for the last possible moment to expose the culprits who’s had plenty of times to dig themselves deeper XD
A highly specialized detective who exclusively investigates dragons. And the show will be called…Scales of Justice.
I think that sounds like the dragons would be the detectives.
I can’t imagine what the upcoming punishment will be… I don’t know if I want to know.
Probably chores to the value of the “damages” paid.
Panel 3: Add a comma to “that”.
Panel 4: Move the comma from the first “So” to the second “So” and add one to the first “it”.
3 not necessary.
4 Optional on the first, I kinda agree on the second. Optional on the it.
Seems like Sabrina knows a lot more Italian than she lets on.
She has trouble with fast talking. I don’t believe any other limitations were mentioned. I’m under the impression she is probably fine with the most used 95% of vocabulary.
“You need to be more careful Emilio. Your scheme exposed is bad enough, but your BROTHER catching the windfall? Unacceptable! Your schemes need some serious improvements.”
What Marco caught was the opposite of a windfall, for Marco. 😉
Marco’s got to be making some of this up. Like, security went looking for 2 very conspicuous lizard people and ran into (from their perspective) a random person and started yelling at him instead? Also the guy had time to call his lawyers and have them drive there before they left the airport? Nah.
You would have had a point before the rise of the surveillance society. The hat guy told “security” that the “lizard people” left with a man they called uncle. “Security” tracked the three of them through the surveillance cameras and saw them meet up with a man and a woman who were obviously the parents. Those were the people to approach, as parents are responsible for children’s actions. Then they saw, still through the cameras, how the father left the group heading for the toilets. That gave them an opportunity. In case of a scuffle it’s much easier to overpower a lone person than a group of five, so they chose to catch the father while he was out of his family’s sight.
Who said anything about lawyers driving to the airport?
The guys in the bottom left panel look like lawyers rather then security.
There’s still the problem that the guy has realize he has bus tickets, flag security down, push them into digging through the security cameras, and catch them before they leave the building.
Plus this is assuming they *want* to help him.
Sabrina: “First, always point a dragon in a safe direction, and never assume it’s unloaded. Second, be sure of your target and what’s beyond.”
