Would actually be pretty easy, at least if you were willing to sacrifice transportability for functionality. Solid walls/floors/ceilings behind each bouncing surface could be used to mount the chandeliers and the mechanics for sliding walls, and multi-room bouncy castles aren’t even particularly novel.
Fireplaces might be a bit harder, bouncing surfaces tend to be somewhat flammable… though an -electric- fireplace still qualifies as a real fireplace except for the most pretentious of traditionalists. I’ve never actually been in proximity with an electric fireplace, though; do they get hot enough to ignite things, or are they more like central heating where the temperature tops out at “summer”?
Honestly, I think it’d be better to just make really good bouncy versions of chandeliers and fireplaces. If you need to be worried about hitting your head on a metal chandelier, you’re going to have less fun. The size can be accommodated easily by building the bouncy castle in modules and supporting them with scaffolding. The modules will have isolated air systems to ensure that damage in one part doesn’t bring the entire thing down. Guards on the outside is easy, just hire some rent-a-cops and give them appropriate costumes. The sliding wall should be connected to the back of a void in the wall next to it via a long thin tube and several strong straps. This ensures that it can be pushed into the wall, while also making sure it can’t be taken out of the wall. The chandeliers should be made of hanging noodle clusters. The noodles will be filled with flexible LED strips and have various spots on them that allow light to pass through. In addition, the noodles should have thick straps on them that allow you to swing from them. A more traditional chandelier shape with arms is also possible, but it would need to be carefully designed to be both reasonably sturdy and to ensure there is no chance of getting your neck caught in it and strangling yourself. Modules that contain a fireplace should have a second, smaller, heated air pump designed to push hot air through a cluster of holes incorporated into the floor of the fireplace. Around the holes should be lightweight ribbons that mimic the flickering of the flame, while the back wall of the fireplace should be lit via more flexible LED strips like the chandelier. For bonus points, have handholds inside the fireplace so that patrons can climb up into a sort of observation cage on top of the bouncy castle, or perhaps even have it lead to other fireplaces on different levels. Lastly, just for fun, have an inflatable flap colored like a rug covering a slide in the floor of one of the modules, leading down to the inflatable moat. These could act as exits for the bouncy castle, as well as drawing attention to a secret sewer entrance that leads up to one of the sliding walls.
Use interdemensional pockets of space. or use a hologram to make it seem bigger than it actually is.
Daniel here. My Dad made a fake campfire ages ago. Literally a light globe and a fan aimed up with some logs & crepe paper as “flames”. Should be simple enough to make the same thing in the shape of a fireplace setup, and it doesn’t generate much heat at all especially if you use LEDs…

“Badinage”? I thought it was pretty goodinage… 😏
Long time no see, Reynard!
At some point, it will be easier to just cover a real castle in bouncy walls and floors.
But that would be cheating.
That would be one amazing bouncy castle! So now I’m wondering what Cleo has planned for the main festivities, maybe a super decked out game room for their next round of Catacombs & Drakes?
At that point it’s not a bouncy castle anymore, just castle made almost entirely out of rubber. Which I’m sure would go over well with some people.
At the budget meeting for the Life size bouncy castle planning committee, I’m sure they’d get a proposal for Converting an actual castle by adding bouncy floors and padding along the walls. Then when they’re not using it, they open admissions up to the public!
For a fee of course
Don’t be so imaginative , guys : it’s a birthday , not a puppy park ^_^”
I know it’s been stated in the past, but I just love the camaraderie of these kids.
Hahaha! Poor Cleo cannot deny how accurate her friends’ statements are. It’s nice to see that the kids still have imaginative inner children even as they continually get closer to adulthood (slowly in Kai and Kaya’s case). That idea for a bounce castle sounds fit for a Dragon, or rather, two Dragons. Who gets to be the princess in the tower? Cleo? Benji? Rex? Kai? Anyway, it sounds like their ideas have gone beyond mere bouncy house and into a fancy playground!
Now, when Cleo’s birthday comes around…
Obviously Kai & Kaya know not to even try to compete with Cleo for fancy; so, I suspect they will do their very best with imagination to make it the best-ever birthday for Cleo. I also predict, warm tears of happiness from Cleo. 🙂
there is quality that one can get without money though. like getting their dad to cook the meal for the party, or hand making gifts.
Kinda what I was talking about. They have to use their imaginations a bit to find these things.
Title text: “Monday” should be capitalized.
World Guide, paragraph 1: Move the comma from “Belgium” to “name”.
Paragraph 2: There should be a comma at the end of “notable”. Also, like in paragraph 4, “live” should be “life”. Lastly, “well known” should be hyphenated.
Paragraph 4: Drop the “s” from the end of “spotlight”. Also, the aforementioned mistake like in paragraph 2.
Would also be okay just adding a comma after ‘name.’
a) No. (although “due to” might read better as “for.”) b) Yes, “life”. c) Not in this usage.
a) To ‘s’ or not to ‘s’, either is correct. b) Yes, “life.”
You missed one, and a ‘maybe.’ 😉
Am I aloud to ask when the next C&D adventure is going to start?
You can, just don’t be rude or obsessive about it. There is apparently another c&d chapter planned, though exactly when is tbd
The castle needs suits of bouncy plate armour standing around like statues, holding bouncy halberds, and bouncy trebuchets throwing foam rubber balls.
Nerf-Trebuchet! 🙂
In a diffrent fantasy univers. Cleo is either the BBEG or ine of the heros that fights the BBEG with just as much money
the comic is really good, but don’t they have any human friends?
But, but, but, they -are- human…mostly…… 😉 🙂
There is a wild Nate that appears in the reveal strip.
From other directions we have the mythical hybrid specialist that we’re probably going to become very familiar with, Benji’s parents (especially if they keep offering Kaya chocolate), and a developing sympathizer from Cleo’s bullies.
bullies???? i said friends. YOu know we never see any except on the side lines.
I will have Cleo know that cake /is/ the main event.
Everyone usually goes on about presents, and that’s pretty darn good; but adults are only really allowed to keep demanding cake, so it is the greatest equalizer.
How would they?
Maybe Cleo’s father has some contacts in NASA R&D. *Yeah, I need some resilient and elastic polymer that holds its properties at…say…2500 Fahrenheit? Oh…bouncy castle for some dragon hybrids. Yes, I’m serious. Hey, I’ll foot the bill for materials and you get some practical data.”
