Drago milks it at Nomi Coffee
where the young serve the drinks.
It’s unusual for the young to work…
It’s a family business, me thinks.
Here comes a kitty for a coffee,
even if it is mostly milk.
Some drinks go down like mud
but latte’s go down like silk.
Her brother looks fed up, I think,
but then, he knows her flaws.
He knows her ways and strategies
and, of course, if she has claws.
By the look of the kitten’s left hand, yup, she has claws, just not very large ones.
No apostrophe in “lattes” as it is plural, not possessive.
Cats have retractable claws, so there is probably a bit more than she’s showing right now.
Of topic… I did a bit of research on retractable claws, and what would be possible if a human would have them. That is if you didn’t change the bonestructure of the hand. And they would have to be pretty puny to fit. This was for a character in a role playing game. The rule book made them out to be formidable weapons. Well not so much when you looked at the physical restraint. This all way irked me when I saw that mutant Yuriko Oyama who acts as Stryker’s assistant / bodyguard in X2. Her nail claws are made of adamantium. If they are as long as is shown in the X2 movie she wouldn’t be able to flex her fingers at all when they are retracted. Heck, Logan’s claws are too long and should bind up his wrists when retracted.
I’ve only seen one or two X-Men episodes and movies. My assumption was that Wolverine’s claws somehow turned into cartilage or something when they retracted.
Nah. They’re bone (often metal covered but bone). His healing factor closes the wounds
Wolverine’s claws are bone, coated in Adamantium. Except when not 😋. When retracting, they actually pass through the wrist bones (according to the live action movies) and store between the forearm bones. From memory, they pretty much take up the entire length of the gap.
As for retractable claw Hybrids, I’m thinking thicker fingers to allow for larger claws…
Isn’t she a bit young for working in a coffee ? Or is it an americain commun thing ?
She would be too young, but she’s helping out in her parent’s shop, so the rules are a bit different for that (At least in my country. Family members can help out in the family business.)
I do know that in the U.S. state of California, minors (anyone under the age of 18), must have a work permit. There are exceptions to the rule, but the Child Labor Laws in California (and other U.S. states) are rather strict.
Doesn’t apply in California if you’re family. I worked in a place where there were two or three family members and they could pretty much ignore the youth labor laws if they chose.
Years ago, when I got my first ‘real’ job, I was able to get a work permit at 14 years old, so I could work legally, in the town library in Cary, North Carolina. 🙂
Don’t forget the chocolate shavings on the whipped cream!
and the sprinkles xD
She is just the cutest little thing.
And her too, though a whole latte?
Kid latte. Not a real one :p
Two cute characters on one page?! Good thing Kaya isn’t here (yet) otherwise there could be a pouncing. And yet again we are reminded how big Drago is.
Drago and the big brother of the itty bitty kitty look a bit similar… Must be the blonde hair and and skin tone. The kitty girl’s line reminds me of Kaya, and I don’t think Kaya or the kitty girl should be allowed to have a latte.
yeah, kids shouldn´t have caffeine, its really not good for their young+small systems
Kaya is only a teen and I still wouldn’t trust her with a coffee (except decaf), she’s hyper enough without one.
Coffee almost mandatory for kids with mild ADHD.
Oh, I see where this is going.
This is the second time in my life I’ve come across a fictitious mention of a child drinking lattes, both girls.
Isn’t this the first time we’ve seen a family with both human and hybrid kids?
Little girls are adorable anyway. This one might threaten your tooth enamel.
I believe it is the first time we see this. I have confirmed that it’s possible way before this already, but I haven’t had the chance to show it in the comic up until now ^^
Eh, cocoa is better than coffee anyway. I can’t stand the taste and I put so much milk in it I might as well be having hot cocoa. Plus I have better ways to get caffeine than bean soup.
Cute tanuki girl barista FTW!
Is that a tanuki, raccoon, or a Maine Coon cat?
None of the above xD
She’s a ring-tailed lemur.
LOL now I have the mental image of her having a twin/younger ring tailed lemur Hybrid brother who dresses and acts like King Julien from the Madagascar movies and shows… 😋
Daniel the Human needs to recharge after working Friday nights, sometimes watches cartoons to try and keep him from completing passing out. Doesn’t always work…
Oh, it’s the cat and her brother from the world guide! It’s pretty cool to see them in a page after only being teased. I hope we see them more!
Is the cat hybrid’s “big bro” human? It is a very odd skin color for a human, especially one with blond hair…
Actually, I think they might be Drago’s siblings.
Maybe the skin tone is an indication that he is also a hybrid, just a rather mild one?
Nah, these two showed up in the world building series as an example of a hybrid/non hybrid sibling pair. It’s not unheard of for someone with a darker complexion to be blond, just seems to be a bit rarer. He could also just have a tan.
or he dyed his hair
