Seems like the red hair runs in their blood.
Would be funny if the only hybrid trait about Annabella was green skin. 🙂
Green eyes aren’t enough?
*Face palm* green eyes, white skin, red hair. It’s the flag again.
Worrying mom and insulting dad,
the kids are buttering up the gramps.
Now they’re learning from their cuz;
this pair are gonna be champs.
Green runs in the family, I see;
in eyes as well as the word.
I hope Arrabella is to sane
as our Kaya is to absurd.
The local streets are deserted
(as soon as they here the news)
so the trio will be unimpeded
as they go and learn to cruise…
Was that supposed to perhaps be “hear the news”?
Yup…
I noticed that too…
*Cuddles a Sweet Welshie.
Hey, mistakes happen to the best of us.
Diolch yn fawr iawn regardless.
Her name is ANNabella 😉
Heh! I have an “Arrabella” in one of my own stories. 🙂
“I’m only a professional chef, no worries.”
Sorry, Marco, but “good food for a paying crowd” and “good food by loving family” are on entirely different spectrums.
“Food, glorious food! What more could you ask for? Three banquets a day, …”
Annabelle looks like a fun person to hang out with. The green eyes with her red hair are quite striking.
*Snickers.* Not even a professional chef can outdo a grandmother. Especially when said grandmother is the mother of said chef.
More characters incoming, this should be interesting. And skipping over the feast to get a good look at the twins’ shenanigans, also interesting.
As always, I’m already looking forward to what happens next.
Something tells me the kids are going to have a fun time. Cue montage of personalization after riding lessons
I see Kaya has managed to wake up even though morning came at least six hours earlier than her biological clock is set for. I guess excitement over the scooter helped with that.
We sure there’s no Irish blood in this italian family. Three red heads, won’t be hard to find them in a crowd so long as they stick together. Hope the twins have a lot of fun learning to ride their scooter.
If you look at the Twin’s Dad and Uncle, that shade of orange is considered part of the redhead spectrum. Meaning even though redhead genes are supposed to be not very strong (which is why they don’t happen more often), it seems they are quite powerful in this family’s bloodline…
So the twins have a cousin GioGio, I wonder if he resembles Giorno Giovanna… We now know where Marco (and Kai and Kaya) inherited his cooking skills from, I wonder if Marco and Nana Romero will collaborate on another family feast. And now we see cousin number 1: Annabella. I can see the resemblance between the three. Kaya would probably look more like Anna if she was a different class of Hybrid. I wonder how Anna and Gio feel about their cousins being Dragon Hybrids, that would be an interesting perspective. How many other siblings does Marco have and how many cousins do the Twin Dragons have?
“Let the scooter games begin,”? Why does that fill me with dread?
Panel 2: Add a comma to “tomorrow”.
Panel 6: Which twin’s saying her name? Also, was it really necessary to put the Italian indicator there?
I figure the flag shows that the name is being pronounced the way Italians pronounce it, not the vowel-shifted way English speakers would pronounce it.
(And of course nope on the comma.)
Very cool to see more of their family and how they interact with each other. The world is so well written you often forget there is difference between the hybrids and non hybrids, but most people don’t really care about it, as it should be.
It also makes for a more calm story telling I think.
I have a feeling this is what Kaya would look like if she wasn’t hybridized. Strong family resemblance in all of them.
A good point.
Might make for a good prank to play on Cleo on a video call if they have similar sounding voices.
I se the family resemblance in Annabella. She seems a lot like a not-hybrid Kaya.
A mild technical criticism here.
The wide shot panels need more background objects. The thing I noticed about the Italian countryside is that it is SO busy. Endless trees, vineyards, rocks were you can’t grow anything, old buildings, walls probably built by Etruscans, terraces, buildings of indeterminate purpose. There would definitely be a wall between that shed and the road, probably stone or brick, and a lot more stuff on the hills beyond. Vines and weeds over everything. I know, I know – backgrounds can take so much time – almost as much as lettering! And simple backgrounds do put the focus on the characters. However they should be interspersed with wider shots to set scenery and context. A character posed on a quarter panel without any backgrounds can be stark, but now imagine the character’s background is a glass-walled corner suite, or a grimy graffiti riddled alleyway! You’ve now added much more to the panel and conveyed a lot more information and emotion to the reader.
Just me $0.02, but I did a lot of editing work in the day, though to be fair it was mostly academic subjects (history curricula!) but I did few comics too.
Lettering… let me just say… for comics… the lettering…
Annabella’s hair-do makes me think of someone from an old movie…set in Italy. 🙂
The Italian Job?
Possibly, if you’re talking about the original, but really I’m thinking of one of those old romantic comedies. I just don’t remember who or which one.
Twin Dragon Pounce GO!
I kind of wish we could have seen the family eating together. It seems like it would be a very festive atmosphere. I mean in the Animal Crossing games I always put in the effort to make the Thanksgiving meal as good as possible. I just enjoy imagining all my villagers enjoying the meal and being talky and happy together.
