The collection of gorgeous gems
belongs entirely to the masses
so that anyone can see them,
no matter what their class is.
Free to see but not to buy
despite what our lovely thinks;
leaving Kaya to observe them
as away our Cleo slinks.
Sheβs met a thing she cannot buy,
no matter how much she wants it.
It may have been a gift on the sly
for the friend whoβll never quit.
It was probably for herself though;
to collect and to impress a beau…
Awww , Cleo , Cleo , Cleo ; you’re so pretty naive . It’s not a market there : gems aren’t to sale ^_^”
Almost everything has a price though.
– Cleo, 2018
And besides, you need to talk to the curator about buying museum pieces, not security.
I like how Cleo is upstaging Kaya in this one. She’s become a bad influence ><
Did Cleo become a bad influence or is it Kaya who’s the bad influence? xD
Hoarding is in your genes. Don’t deny your very self little one.
Well this is Kaya we are talking about. If anything she will most likely hoard chocolate and cute fluffy things. Gens are just a bonus π
They have it pretty well under control though :p
Kay you must resist the dragon urges to collect gems and gold
MUST…….RESIST…….URGE
Kaya failed her determination attempt!
It’s Cleo you should worry about. She actually has the means to collect them xD
Sooner or later daddy is going to ask…
Cleo’s father: “Cleo, dear, I am glad that you ditched that manipulative trio of brats and made a real friend…but could you please explain this invoice from the Smithsonian? I have items from the natural history museum and one from the Air and Space museum…”
elsewhere…
Marco Romero: “Could someone explain first why there’s a fighter jet in my parking space, and second, HOW there’s a fighter jet in my parking space?!”
The “How” is… it’s a “Harrier”. π
Or an F-35.
Ok, forget what I said last comic about Cleo becoming an activist. Sheβs a jewel thief in the making.
I wonder what Kaya thinks of the Dragon stereotype of being a treasure hoarder?
Well, she has been known to become pretty possessive of certain things (chocolate for example) so I think she can’t completely deny the stereotype.
They have it under control though.
Yeah but she want chocolate to eat it, hoarding as a dragon does it isn’t about hoarding things for use, it’s about hoarding things you never plan to use for anything, because you obsess about having status symbols, Kaya don’t do the right kind of hoarding, to count as a dragon with a hoarding instinct.
OH Cleo that is NOT how museums work..well then again if your dad has the cash they MIGHT be willing I supose…
Dad could get the museum’s gem for Cleo… then give a better one to the museum. π
Oh, he definitely has the cash, but I doubt he’s willing to buy a museum gem xD
But, if he’s a big donor, they may consider a loan.
I -sounds- like some of these guys are forgetting who is actually the ‘star’ of today’s strip! π π π
Is it the gem? xD
It -is- a ‘gem’ of a strip! π
I’m not. It’s Troye!
LOL!
I wonder how many even remember who Troye is. π I know -I- have a terrible time
remembering the names of characters I don’t see often.
He’s over in the voting incentive.
Honestly, I’m worried about the kind of future the friendship of these two could lead to. Can you imagine Kaya and Cleo in a series of buddy cop style Indiana Jones type adventures with Cleo financing it all and literally just building a museum to house all their trophies? Actually, that sounds like a fun Flash Forward chapter. I see Benji as an author in the future, who is responsible for several surprisingly well selling Fantasy novels that feature beastkin type characters as the protagonists; for some reason, I see future Kai as working in the movie industry to some degree, maybe as an actor or stagehand.
Nice takes on their future. I will neither deny or confirm anything of it xD
I mean they can also get a fake gem at the gift shop but that works too
But Cleo will know it’s fake, that won’t do xD
ha ha true XD
Vote Incentive: Msg to Troye… “Jump, boy! Jump!!” π π π
(I really need an “edit” button. You wanna merge this stuff?)
No teasing the little cinamon roll xD
LOL! “Little cinnamon roll”. I need to remember that. π
Ha! I just now realized the color tones change in the middle three panels! (because we are looking through glass there). Notice how much more vivid the colors are in the first and last panels? Nice detail, Robin!
Thanks ^^ Looking it Kaya’s face it better than at the back of her head in this case, so it was a logical thing to look at them through the glass.
*reads ‘The Jungle Book’ again*
Yeah, not surprised.
I’m sure this is a reference to Kaa the snake, but I don’t know why xD
Kaya should consider the example of her late, great-uncle Smaug, with regards to the hazards of hoarding.
hmm, he did set a bad example. One could say he was very succesful though, if you look at the hoard he had xD
Well… she doesn’t have $1.000.000…
That’s also true
Well, technically, if this is one of those museums that relies on the contributions of private collectors to fill their cases, Cleo might be able to track down the owner of the gem she wants and make an offer to it on them. If the gem belongs to the museum though, I doubt sheβll be getting that one in particular. Maybe just look online for the same TYPE of gem…? At least the painting is living to see another day. Also, Robin, amazinf work on that glass. I could tell immediately what I was supposed to be seeing. You pulled it off perfectly. Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing the next panel; and as always, stay awesome!
Thank Alpha ^^ I’m trying to be as clear as possible in what I want to show. Glad it gets noticed π
I guess Cleo could possibly buy it then. I do have my doubts if her father would want to, though xD
Guard: Oh, I see. The gift shop is on the first floor, beside the main entrance. As you come in, it is the second door on the left. There are a couple of signs pointing it out.
Cleo: Not quite what I meant. Oh, and who controls what paintings get shown here?
Guard: That would depend which section it is in. Each section has its own curators. Excuse me. Young lady, please take your hands off the display case. … Thank you.
Cleo: The ones over there, the one showing the slaying of a dragon or a couple of men attacking a snake.
Guard: Oh, you would want to talk with one of the medieval curators. For the paintings, that would be Dr. Teresa Ocean. There is usually a junior curator or guide in the section you could talk with who can explain more about the paintings in question.
the next day, some curator had some explaining to do…
xD
Cleo, you must resist!!!
Kaya: “So…Shiny…”
And when Cleo comes back , she discovers that Kaya has made the glass melt and is picking up the gems in her pockets XD
The worst place for them to be in the museum xD
Before Cleo , there was “pokemons” . After Cleo , there will be “gememons” ………… Get them all
I’m out ^_^”
OH geez, Kaya, I was kidding about the hoard!
