So it seems some larger reptiles are partially endothermic, able to generate small amounts of heat (usually for incubating eggs) dragons are big enough I think I think they could be one of those types. Maybe adapting a way to use that small bit of heat like a pilot light in a heater. Thoughts anyone?

He meant Kaya has mammory glands (breasts) witch are a uniquely mammal trait, the whole branch is named after them after all. I assumed that was one of the human traits that the hybrid features are layered over.
Reptile, yes, but not a cold-blooded one, which is a unique feat among reptiles.
Anger may be an excellent motor, but it tends to be a miserable driver.
Sure, Kai’s chances are slim, but I wouldn’t count him out just yet.
After all, the opera isn’t over until the fat lady is done singing.

The only Lady’s I see (depending on your definition of ‘lady’) are Cleo and Kaya, and neither are fat, they are both actually quite slim, or at least average. Though, as hybrids, they cannot necessarily be compared to human standards, as their tails add quite a bit of mass (can’t remember if Kaya had increased muscle/bone density to explain increased strength/durability or not).
That’s the more common variation, yes.
However if you think about it, it is incorrect…cause as long as the ‘fat lady’ (Brunhilde from Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelungs) is singing, the opera isn’t done with, even though you know it’s (finally) coming to an end.
Sure, it’s the last thing that’s happening, but until she’s done, the opera isn’t done.
You wouldn’t want to insult the mighty Brunhilde by leaving the opera house before she’s done singing, right? 😉

Welp. Good luck Kai. I love Rex’s face in the last panel though. He’s ANGRY. xD I might consider a potion that makes smoke come out of his ears when he gets that mad. Potion suggestions are still open. I’ve gotten a few good ones these past few comics. They are noted. I’ll continue to accept suggestions until Robin decides to close them. Then I’ll pick my favorites for each character. Good work on the comic Robin! Keep it up! Let’s see how Kai does against Rex MK. II.

Well… Let’s hope that after beating Kai thoroughly Rex regains logical thinking and gives Kai respect for putting up a fight, though I doubt it, that face is the face of a guy who only thinks about results and winning. I’d like to know how much of a team player he is.
Well, there’s always plan B, and Kaya will rip him apart with her sharp tongue at the end of the match, telling him exactly what she thinks?

I’m…not entirely sure I’d put her up for Plan ‘B’ though.
Maybe more along the lines of Plan D or E.

Now, Kaya is a dragon girl…whom you simply don’t want to be even just angry with you.
I don’t think anyone intentionally relies on Kaya for Plan B, the situation’s never gotten that dire before. At least not on… camera?
The thing is, she has Plan B set anyway, no request needed. So Plans B through E are actually C through F. 😛

I think you meant to substitute ‘Basketball’ with ‘sports’ or the more general ‘competition’.
However I don’t think that’s entirely true.
As long as you don’t take the competition too serious, you can have fun even when losing.
However if you’re like Rex, who will ‘not have another next to him’, anger, hatred and possibly hurt become much more likely.
Robin; I really like your depiction of Rex in that last panel!
The real issue here is that Kai has been scoring his points so far by surprising Rex with abilities Rex didn’t know he had.
Could Kai score another point or two with more surprises? Sure, probably.
But eventually, Kai will run out of surprises. (Pretty soon now, I’d guess.)
When it comes down to brass tacks, Rex has superiority in both experience and endurance.
Long story short, if Kai is going to get a victory here, he’s going to have to do some lateral thinking.

Come to think of it, is there a cheerleading club/squad? I imagine routines/maneuvers would be considerably more difficult when you have to take things like tails into account.
But at the same time, those tails could also allow you to do new maneuvers that would be difficult or impossible for the tailless!
Love the vote incentive pic! Being able to do gradients with graffity must take quite an experienced guy to do it. I wish that all the grafitties in our world were that pretty.

Benji’s been learning for a while now, guess he has some experience.
Y’know, several people are saying that Rex looks angry, but to me he just looks like he’s getting really into it. The excited, relishing the challenge kind of getting into it.
You are right! I’ve got cerebral palsy, and even though not as bad as others, I tend to get angry easily. When not true anger, sometimes I can channel that rage into a mindset I call “fartooth spade jaw”, where my lower jaw juts out like a smile. I think a similar thing happens here

In all seriousness though, he’s not angry at this point, more like, serious and excited.
It truly is amazing to see the variety of hybrids, and that this Komodo dragon is larger than normal dragon hybrids. Which raises the question, are hybrids generally larger if they are larger animal mixes, or is size determined by human DNA. plus, I thought he was some sort of ammit the devourer at first, but he’s just a normal and totally safe Komodo dragon man.
Size and type of hybrid do influence each other but Drago was going to be a big guy already so being a komodo dragon helped with that. He’s like a gentle giant though :p
