Super fast tail wagging IS a super power. Just think of all the stealth games where you throw rocks (and other stuff) as distraction – I have thought so many times that there is a helicopter nearby because the dog of a friend was constantly hitting his tail against furniture, it’s the perfect distraction!
No coffee table is safe from the super fast tail wagging…
Especially the table’s contents!
too bad if he wants to hide in a cardboard box though, that tail would give him away in a split second xD
Not if the box is big enough to hide the tail as well!
Now I’m imagining a box with an added box at the back for his tail xD
But that small box is moving
From the tension of lovely ladies
Cut back to the following handsome lads
Proving their worth in all they watch
And showing protection’ not their new fads.
Bright Benji is entranced by the fire
And thus downgrafes all he can do.
Wise Kai, on the other hand, will conspire
To tell Benji it has a downside too.
Benji commiserates by showing off
And making everyone less blue
Kai brightens up; seeing the pup
Really has a power most true.
Great poem, as usual ^^
I love all the poems youve written throughout the chapters. Ive come to look forward to it nearly as much as the chapters themselves.
Being a dog, he should have a super sense of smell.
He’s had it all his life. No reason to suspect it’s not normal.
And hearing, but like Welsh Rat said, he doesn’t know it’s anything special yet.
Well, when he’s old enough, he’ll find out that waging the tail super fast is indeed an appreciated power
Oh yeah, he has no idea of the cuteness factor yet :p
Puppy eyes and tail wag would shine a cuteness light in target’s face brighter than trying to look out a window in R6 seige (pre-patch)
Well, seems that while Kaya’s sneaking skills have improved, she still has nothing on Kai (assuming she hasn’t realised he’s following her).
And YAY, finally talking about the fire breath, been waiting for this, as it is definitely not a normal hybrid power, and perhaps the one thing which defines the twins as Dragons (as opposed to lizards).
Kai can be pretty sneaky.
The firebreathing will be handled in more detailed at some point, but for now, it’s just mentioning it like here.
yay! kai’s back
And he’d make an awesome secret agent with the proper training, with the stealth and the fire breathing already dominated.
Now for a suit and some gadgets xD
He needs a snoop suit like Autumn Pingo has.

If he can wage his tail any faster he can take of in to the air
Helicopter Benji xD
He’d need to wag it in a circular pattern though.
Anyway, ANY superpower applied without caution can be destructive, so Kai doesn’t really have a point. It’s about how you use it. E.g. when going camping you don’t really need to carry a lighter or matches to make a bonfire.
Such fire can be really useful if applied properly, especially while in survival situations.
Example uses would include:
– Heating cold meal. Not too big flame and not very close to the meal of course, but it’d work.
– Making popcorn if microwave is broken/non-existent at the place you are currently. Again not too close and small fire.
– (in survival context) Heating some rocks so they become red hot before going to sleep near them. They’d give out heat slowly over night and so you won’t get cold.
– (in survival context) Making a fire quickly so you can cook whatever you’ve hunted/gathered. No fiddling with stick to stick or lighter/matches required (well, technically a dragon IS a kind of lighter, so… Yeah, I’ll better shut up)
– (in survival context) When wild animals such as wolves or other dangerous animals attack, you can use it to scare them off.
So yeah, firebreathing IS damn useful. I should know. Anyway, some of these require finer control over their flames, but I believe that if they don’t have it, they can train to achieve it. The dragon twins ARE masters of Cute, so there’s no reason they can’t become masters of Fire as well ;).
I agree, it can be really usefull. Kai does know how usefull it can be, he just doesn’t classify it as a super power yet.
The thing is that they do not have fine control of the flame, not compared to something as simple as a blowtorch. Yeah, sure its neat that they can improvise one, but you don’t need a blowtorch a lot everyday. Or that of a flamethrower either. If they lived out in the bush for some reason, yeah it would be more awesome, but I see little advantage in city living. Even in terms of work, I see little use for fire breathing.
Trying to use it to cook instead of smaller, more manageable matches is just asking for a house fire. Yes, they can do it but why would they if they have a kitchen, the use of which would be far safer. And the thing is that once you burn down the house, there is no going back.
“Kai would never let Kaya get in trouble without him.” << This part sounds like Kai enjoys the "in trouble" part and doesn't want to miss out! 🙂
"He has to look after his sister after all." << This part kind of pulls Kai back to give him a more "adult" sound. 😉
Kai: “Sometimes it can be kind of a pain. I got sent to the principal’s office for smoking.”
Benji: “Wait, how?”
Kai: “I had a bit of a cold, I was chewing thoughtfully on the end of a pencil, nearsighted teacher overreacted.”
You know, in case they turn out to be reincarnations of spirits and they could talk to the animals they follow. In which case Benji, being able to talk to dogs, would actually find his superpower to be pretty awesome and potentially very useful due to the number of dogs in the world. Compare that to the number of dragons in the world.
On the other hand, IF you actually manage to meet some dragon, the ability to talk to him will be EXTREMELY important.
He has the superpower of photosynthetic hair, remember?
I’d say being a dog/hybrid IS a super power. But man, the ability to breathe fire, is just plain awesome.
Probably a bit late for a suggestion, but would “many curtains perished for us to master the skill,” work for the second bubble in panel four?
