Omg this is adorable.
Alternate title: Nearvous
Oh, she’s a cool one (at least nearly)
playing with our Dragonlords’ word.
That twitch of her mouth in the fourth
indicates that she knows what she heard.
Somewhere back home, our Cleo hisses
as a challenger appears for her boy friend.
Will they ever meet, the snake and the cat?
What level of threat will Cleo contend?
Wandering the village with a tourist
will change how Kai sees the place.
Old places he’s known all his life
will become new and gather fresh grace.
Diolch yn fawr iawn.
I notice that Near is a little taller than Kai.
Well, seems like she’s getting to see the real dragon boy…
Well, he is a shrimp ^^
Near’s smug expression as she eats is just so adorable!
Cute all around, and somehow I think Near will say yes.
Kai may not be as smooth as he was prior, but he’s just as precious and adorable, maybe he’s even cuter when he’s slightly nervous…
Aww, Kai’s first date! Where’s the camera when you need it? Near looks less nervous than Kai does, I would expect her to be as nervous as Kai about a date. Maybe because Kai is a comforting presence to her? I hope their date goes well, though I wonder if they’ll be a couple or be better as friends… I wonder when Annabella will start shipping Kaya with a potential boyfriend…
Why this “date”? Cant they just call it “hang out”? 🙂
Both my sister and cousin thougt it would be a good idea.
Panel 6: Add a comma to “in”.
Technically correct. But, as the word ‘uh’ is the end of the sentence here, rather than a pause in the middle of the word, slightly more optional than certain.
As I said a couple comics ago (comic “Stare”, I can’t get a link to be accepted, sorry) in a similar erroneous correction, you don’t put commas around words like “uh” because the “uh” takes the place of the comma. This is called a “discourse marker.”
“Are you asking me out?”
“You’re not far off. 😜 I’m trying to ask you what you think about the idea without being creepy.”
Loving the expressions and body language here.
Kai is definitely smoother when he’s just being helpful… Now that I think about it he seems to be at his best when he acts on an impulse. Like when challenging Rex, talking Italian with Clem, and helping Near, but when you point out what he’s doing he almost immediately flounders for a bit. Seems Kaya isn’t the only impulsive dragon, just the more chaotic one.
Kai, that’s not a question you answer with a question. Even if it looks like she might be finding him a bit adorkable.
So mister rizz looses all of this confidence when actually trying to ask a girl out
I love the 8th panel how she is just munching on her panini.
Even when nervous, Kai just can’t stop smiling. He’s really cute. Hopefully Near can’t say “no”.
Or she can, but chooses not to.
