I like Kaya’s braindead angel. I find it funny how it’s dancing on her head.
Haha, I was about to ask why there is a tiny angel Kaya on top of her head there. Your explanation makes sense — her brain died and went to heaven XD
Can you make one comic of Kaya and Rex to lovers
(Meanwhile, Jin and Katsumi walk by in the hallway)
Katsumi: Jin-kun, do you see that?
Jin: See what?
Katsumi: The dragon girl, there. There’s a little angel dancing on her head.
Jin: On Kaya-san? I don’t see anything.
Katsumi: Huh. Well, I suppose that proves it’s not just you…
First thought that occurred to me too.
The impasse of the Dragon is hard to fathom;
could this to be to do with the flu?
Is the fact it happened to happen after the zap
be some sort of obvious mental clue?
Sometimes confidence suffers a shutdown
after you fail to do what you can.
Confidence shattered and nothing then mattered
to get you back on track with your plan.
The railway symbolism returns once again;
it’s littered throughout this scene.
Can Mandy and Misha help stoke the engine?
Heh, tell me right now, is Kaya green?
The Calculus Raccoonus is a bit confused regarding why Kaya is struggling on her own. Given the mystery that is her dragon brain, Mandy’s confusion is understandable. Poor Kaya looks like she’s about to give up the ghost, her soul is about to leave her body. Smaller than I expected. And her soul’s just as hyper as she is, judging from the way she’s dancing.
Not everyone can understand advanced math, it’s a matter of perspective.
If you can’t understand the concept of advanced math, then it’s just gibberish.
When you can’t understand it by looking at examples, you need to study HOW
they came up with those formulas before you can understand how to use them.
Plus anyone that has ADHD can’t focus enough to use them, I suffered with it
myself and if I read anything for more than 10 mins that didn’t catch my
attention, my eyes would glaze over and I couldn’t get it no matter how hard
tried. I see that in Kaya. For me it was spelling, for her it’s math.
ADHD doesn’t preclude understanding advanced math. Many engineers I know (myself included) are VERY strongly ADHD (ADHD somehow attracts engineers) and all of us have to have a strong foundation in math, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.
The problem here is that Kaya has a great grasp of the concepts, but isn’t seeing the math underneath it. She can visualize the “train problem” but doesn’t see that the constant speed of the train and the ball going straight up and down, when put together, describe the FORMULA that gives you a parabola. Once she sees the math UNDER the motions.
I’m hoping Mandy can get that across to her. What a bonding moment that would be (not that Kaya needs any help with THAT.)
I’m not saying that, I’m saying that someone with ADHD needs to be interested in a subject for it to catch their focus. I liked math and took to it like a duck to water, I also enjoy building and repairing things. I excel in both areas.
She just has to get over the hump of the needed focus to understand it, once she does, it’ll become easy for her. I got to the point where I could do square roots in my head in my 7th grade class.
Caused me a bit of trouble since I didn’t show how I figured it, the teacher thought I had cheated somehow, even after I solved problems he gave me at his desk in a few minutes while he had to write them out. He still failed me, teachers don’t like it if you’re smarter than them…
Dragon Flu, because she is draggin’ her self around her place. Her immune system is just diverting a huge amount of resources to fighting the infection. More sunlight, orange juice and chicken soup!
Back during Friendship Is Magic, I imagined an episode where Spike contracted vermilion fever, a bacterial strain that only infects dragons, causing their bodies to get really, really hot.
I can only imagine how a runny/stuffy/ sneezy nose can affect a fire breathing dragon 🫣
Just take a look!

Forgot about this, looks like it’s getting time to reread to catch back up. 😅
Chapter 9 was a whole story arc about what that does to a fire breathing dragon. (Well, if you count “has lucid dreams” as a symptom.)
I can see how a cold for a dragon would be a huge problem for anyone and everyone around them, I’m sure in time they will have better control but as kids, and strong exhale will result in a WHOOSH! I’d feel for their mother if she had tried to breast feed a fussy baby dragon. And don’t get me started about cowlick issues! I had a rough childhood, so night terrors were a common problem, but I had a councilor that taught me how to lucid dream, downside was my sub-conscious has a very lousy imagination! I had to have major surgery back in 2004 and the pain meds were really giving me weird dreams. Picture a cheesy B-movie titled “The naked fat men from space” and living in it… you get the idea…
*but as kid, ANY strong exhale*
(face-palm)
I should add that I was so sick of that dream,
it was one of the only times I told myself
“screw this” and woke myself up.
I dunno, I would think a built-in flamethrower would be one HELL of a decongestant.
If you think about it, turning the snot to ash would still make you sneeze, which is the main problem there.
Just not wet tissues, more like powered ones.
Kaya needs to turn her frustrations into a song: “I can’t get tho-ose Sanskrit fractions!”
I see Robin is trying new variation in her drawings : on panel 4, the perspective wih Kaya’s hands is great and improve the sensation of Kaya crushed on the table by her frustation.
Or by the angel spirit dancing on her head
Kaya’s “Get Up and Go” looks like it got up and went!
Oh man, hope we see a return from Mini Kaya.
Mandy is really sweet here. She’s trying very hard to help someone she just met.
So if there’s a tiny angel Kaya, where’s the tiny Evangelion Kaya?
