Heh, childhood crush! Wonder how she’d react if she found out he actually played a game of Dungeons and Drakes with them? Probably drag Benji aside next time he’s in the shop and demand details! XD Hope she doesn’t get too distracted with him there while presenting Kai with his challenge! Or who knows, maybe that will work out in Kai’s favor!
A look of adoration noted by Kai
as Amy tries to welcome the big guy.
Tripping over words in her sweet way
tongue twisting troubles whilst saying ‘hey’.
She never knew Benji knew her dream;
to meet the Wolf who’d make her scream.
She’ll run this moment over in every way;
getting a present when it’s not her birthday.
He’s not grumpy, he’s trying to smile.
(with his long muzzle it may take a while)
But he’s happy to try it for his young fan…
is his abduction now Amy’s plan?
Hee hee hee…
Calm down, Sweetie…
She can’t! He’s there! He’s talking to her! He’s shaking her hand!!!
Gotta admit, she’s doing relatively well considering. In most shows I’ve seen, she would be barely able to function. And he not only touched her hand but shook it too? On TV she would be all “blue screen of doom” by now…
Well, Daniel the Human has told me life isn’t always like that, so I don’t know, but she’s lucky she’s not on a TV show…
That lucky rabbit’s hand may never be washed again! 🙂
Her nervousness is cute, probably won’t be when she’s over, but she’s at the age where can come off as cute more than not.
Kai’s probably wondering if she’s going to fumble the challenge out of nervousness.
so the hint send them straight to a girl crushing on rex…..coincidence or cleo playing matchmaker?
Coincidence* – Cleo outsourced the planning
*as much as you can call ‘running into one of the many girls that admire the basketball captain’ a coincidence – there’s probably one at the library, too.
To be honest, it’s probably no wonder that Rex would have a large female fan club, unbeknown to him or to his ire. Ah, all those one-sided loves…lol.
Still funny and cute to see, though.
Probably get worse as he gets a bit older. Imagine 5 years from now: hunkier, just signed a contract with the NBA after playing college ball for a couple years. He’ll have hordes chasing him!
Hopefully, the hordes are not looking to get “that furry freak” kicked out of professional athletics.
I always find the idea of hybrids interesting to explore in the real world, where we still haven’t fully fixed racism, sexism, and prejudices against so many others. You know hybrids would have the same issues.
Fortunately, this is not that sort of comic. Robin just wants to explore the live of these people without going into all of that.
And to be honest, I don’t mind works which just shows acceptance and ignores all that. It shows what things could be like. And I feel that sometimes seeing the ideal leads people towards that ideal a lot more than showing the reality. The reality view is needed sometimes, but you need to have a view of what to aim for.
Because OF COURSE the sports captain has young girls crushing on him. OF COURSE he does.
A younger bunny girl and an older grumpy guy. This had Serena and Darian written all over. Now I want to see them dressed as Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.
are we sure she’s younger, and not just small?
DragonKai/the author said that Amy’s 12
how old is Rex?
Sixteen. He’s one of the early hybrids.
Aw, someone’s got a thing for brooding antiheroes.
Way to subvert that old rhyme! Maybe someone put the wolf and bun up in the tree?
How long will Amy last in the presence of her super crush?! She looks like she’s close to melting, you can practically see the steam coming out of her exhaust pipes, I mean ears. She’s probably going to embarrass herself in front of Rex, isn’t she? Isn’t Rex 4 years older than her? That’s a bit of an age gap for kids. I wonder how long it’ll take Team Kai to notice her crush on Rexy…
– I’m going to say 3.
– Minutes? Hours?
– 2, 1 …
Give some minutes to Amy for she stops to melt
Another coincidence. Was the box with names in rigged?
The teams no longer seem so random.
New math ahead: with the new information from the world guide, so.e real world demographic info, a real world example of a city being built about as fast as HC was, and a bit of good ol statistical estimations. I worked out that there’s about a 0.5% chance of a hybrid being mythical.
Applying that to the rate of hybridization and population data there should be somewhere around the range of 70 mythicals worldwide. This also increases the Romeros odds of having the twins was one in five million.
There was way more guesswork than I’d like in regards to HC’s actual population so there’s some room to tighten that data set, but it’s the best I can get without an actual census of HC.
I’m not that good with numbers, certain types of technology are my thing, but if I’m reading that right, the chances of the Romero family having twin Mythical Class Hybrid babies are that big in a bad way they’re probably the ONLY Mythical Hybrid Twins ANYWHERE in the world? And only 70 Mythical Hybrids all up? Would you could the Twins as 2 of them, or just 1 since they’re twins? Daniel the Human is thinking they would only count as 1, since they came from 1 pregnancy…
I counted them as 2 since they were fraternal. Two eggs, two rolls for hybrid.
Imagine if 1 had been a Mythical Class Hybrid while the other was just a normal Human. Might make things a bit weirder, and more complicated…
That’s certainly possible. Might actually be the case somewhere, by my reasoning a human/mythical fraternal pair is about one in two hundred thousand. Considering my estimate puts the world hybrid population at about fourteen thousand that shakes out to about a 14% chance that they exist somewhere in Robin’s world.
That 14% is probably off o did that calculation quickly before bed and I think I did it wrong
With your human/mythical fraternal twins calculation, you just got the numerator and denominator switched up. 1/200000 * 14000 =0.07%, which is the actual probability. 200000/14000 (I.e. 200000 * 1/14000) = a little over 14.
Thanks, felt like a simple mistake like that
She’s never washing that hand ever.
(Jennie … I mean, the world guide): You know that you don’t NEED to wear T-shirts? You can wear shirts with actual buttons, no problems with antlers then. Personally, I don’t like anything which needs to go over head despite not having any antlers, and I had no problem avoiding that for years.
Granted, it’s hard to find shirts with clever texts on front. It would be harder to read with the opening in the way, so people just don’t bother.
You’ve done it now Robin.
You are now obligated to do an over the top anime style “Amy Vision” of Rex. With rose petals and everything.
*Ba-dum ba-dum*
Bishie sparkle Rex! Amy doesn’t stand a chance, even though it’s just in her head.
I try not to use the word “love” loosely. I reserve it for close friends and things that I really value.
Robin, I LOVE this comic!
I just submitted a nomination for this comic for the Ursa Major Awards. Hope they pick it!
(Not sure if it fits in the “Graphic Story” or “Comic Strip” category, so I nominated it for both!)
Here’s the registration URL, in case anyone wants to help out: https://ursamajorawards.org/nominations/
You are officially seconded on the Ursa Major Award nominations. 🙂
“Thirded!”
World Guide, paragraph 2: “…one antler or horn at /a/ time…”
Paragraph 3: “But /on/ rare occasions…”, “When sleeping and dressing /become/ problematic…”
Paragraph 4: Drop the comma from the end of “them”.
All 4 correct. Good job. 🙂
All 4 correct. Good job. 🙂
Twitterpated. *nod nods*
Yeah, getting Beastar vibes already.
No, you really don’t want to know.
I’m not kidding.
Too late, I already know!
Someone’s got a crush~ =3
Re: World guide – Why not just use tops with buttons, zippers, etc.? I’d think at least one person would opt to use that route.
Maybe the deer hybrid was too much of a bonehead!
I was kinda thinking the same. Only problem is that thermal wear rarely, if ever, has buttons/zippers. I’ve seen polo shirts with three to five buttons, but no normal t-shirts do.
Also, I think it’d feel really breezy if *every* one of your layers had buttons or a zipper in front. Clothing for women/girls is more varied, but mens/boys shirts & jackets always have buttons/zipper in center-front, in my experience.
An alternative to buttoned down in front would be buttons on the shoulders to temporarily widen the neck-hole, the way it’s common practice for baby-shirts.
Jackets, especially the ones for cold weather, usually have some overlap over the buttons/zipper, so not really an issue.
Also, as I already mentioned, I have no problem wearing just clothes with buttons/zipper in center front IRL. You may THINK it’d feel breezy, I know it doesn’t.
If she goes Amy Rose, RUN!
