Whoops
Whoops indeed xD
Whoops, maybe both of them should have been a bit more careful during Kaya’s fire breathing demonstration! That’s two, one more a this can be an official running gag!
Oh, it needs to be three times?
hmmm…
When is Larissa coming back? *flips through script*
xD
Maybe she shouldn’t have leaned in so close on the laast page!
One question, though; are they both screaming in panel 5, or is it just the doctor screaming while Kaya reacts to the situation?
Sorry, minor typo there!
“Last,” not “laast”.
It’s the doctor screaming :p
Kaya is not impressed by a small fire like this xD
Kaya’s path of baldness continues! At least there’s no flammable hair spray involved.
The doc’s eyes look a little derpy in the first panel, but it still kind of fits how excited she is.
Might have made a mistake with the eyes xD
She’s not going to go bald from this. Kaya’s on the case. She’ll be out in no time xD
Haha. I don’t think the eyes look bad, they just look a little “DUHHHH.”
If Kaya’s a Guilty Gear fan, then it’s good that she won’t create another Dr. Baldhead.
I knew she was going to light someone’s hair on fire again. Old habits die hard. Surprised one of the specs of flames reached the doctor’s probably flammable hair from the angle she was leaning in at.
Fire can be unpredictable, even for a dragon :p
The fire within burns bright
and sets her hair alight;
a spark caught it in flight
and let the room up alright.
Kaya fears for her friend;
a truth on which we depend;
the post she’ll often send?
Friendship will never end.
Pat out the flame, dear girl
or give some water a whirl;
her hair had some fine curl.
Disaster will unfurl…
Never change, mate.
HAH!!! I Knew she would set someone on fire!
It was only a matter of time :p
This is why Fern needs water XD
Oh, the pun xD
Troye looks like he’ll get a girl friend as he’s so cute.
Watch out, big brother! 😉
Yeah, I doubt he’ll have trouble getting a girlfriend xD
Kaya should consider becoming a balloonist. Setting people’s hair on fire is part of the job description.
And I agree with Welsh Rat, Troye looks cute.
Is it now? :p
Yeah, Troye is the cutest doggo xD
KAYA! I thought we discussed NOT doing that? The last panel made me think that you managed to avoid doing it. I was so proud of your control. Looks like you still have some practicing to do after all. Great work as always Robin. The transition from smoldering ember to tiny flame was very well made. It seemed very natural. Of course I’m not sure if hair lights up the same way as dry grass, but if it does then you couldn’t have done it more perfectly. Another amazing strip as always. Keep up this astounding comic, and as always, stay awesome!
That depends a lot on hair products applied.
Fire is very unpredictable. Kaya did well but shouldn’t have called the doctor closer in her excitement to show of her skills xD
good question on the hair burning. I imagine it goes quite a bit faster, but that would be detrimental to the joke, so I did it like this xD
Thanks Alpha 😀
You know… i thought her head was smoking because she was thinking so much at first to be honest….. XD
Now that would have been a sight to behold xD
In one book, if ogres thought too hard it tended to overheat their heads and give their fleas hot-foots. 😉
This page gave me a much needed laugh. Thanks for that!
Now onto the page with some fire safety 101 – never get too close to an open flame or risk catching on fire.
I guess the Doc was too lost in thought/excitement to notice that her hair caught. Not to mention the smell of burnt hair (one of the worst smells).
At least Kaya tried (and finally succeeding) to get her attention about it.
It’s actually easy to not notice your hair burning, if the fire isn’t directly on skin.
Glad to have made you laught 🙂
And don’t worry. If Kaya wants your attention, she’ll get it eventually xD
…So the twin being careful and not recklessly killing thermometers is the one that sets something on fire…
I wonder if Kaya gets to meet the local fire brigade?
I wonder, if this information goes public, there will be certain people who are against kids possessing items such as lighters, will see the twins as a risk?
And I wonder if the doc will still have this much enthusiasm after she is put out?
Well, she’ll be at least a little put-out about it. 😉
Oh I’m sure she’ll still be every bit as thrilled to study Kaya as before, she just learned a bit of proper caution is going to be necessary is all!
I see that she has a burning passion over this kind of science…. too bad so did her hair….
I take back anything I may have said before about this Doc being observant 😛
I don’t blame her for not noticing, I’ve been on fire before and the only reason I noticed was because it was my pants and the smoke went in front of my face. Plus it smelled like pancakes for some reason.
And yes, that was all true. Despite my pants being on fire
Lady Doc´s on fire about the news of having a Dragon hybrid patient.
Who happened to set her hair on fire.
Somehow this outcome isn´t really much of a surprise with Kaya.
And it somehow emphasizes the good chemistry between the two.
Now Kaya has to point out her twin brother is also a dragon. Now I’m wondering about how things will go when they develop further, which will likely be interesting to see. I’m assuming the twins are pre-teens at the moment, they possibly haven’t hit puberty yet. Puberty for hybrids must be very difficult for their parents, Cleo shedding her skin as she grows is likely more than a bit of an annoyance for her and the cleaning staff. But the twins are likely to have it more…interesting, maybe after some point, one or both of them starts spitting out a different element, I can totally see Kai keeping the fire breath while Kaya’s suddenly changes to ice and she starts doing a whole mess of freezing shenanigans. It would also help more physically show their personalities, Kai is more prone to run a bit hot than Kaya who tends to usually have a pretty chill demeanor. But that’s just my take on things
you bring up an interesting point. as for the doctor…” heh heh whoopsie”
What aaaarggghh!! Why is time so confusing. Well me and Toby.2 have only a few more minutes before we poof out of existence so bye..(poof)..(poof). finally back to existing so from now on no more time trips unless it an emergency. The doctor must of use flame resistant shampoo cuz that fire took a long time from fizzing to flame
Ps that must’ve set off fire alarm. Cause there is smoke
Knowing the speed to burn , for hairs ; the doctor would have normally and already lost the half of her plait
KAYA NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! YOU SAID YOU WOULDN’T BURN THE DOCTOR….AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!
i have been enjoying this comic so far. i really enjoy the high jinks these two get up to. keep up the great work.
Fun fact: there is an critter on this planet able to harness the awesome power of fire called the bombardier beetle. it mixes two reactive chemicals in its throax that then either combust or explodes out its backside. the sites i read used both interchangeably and i haven’t been bothered to find out which.
Rather than fire, I think that it ends up being steam basically. I suppose that “react”
would dodge the question of the nature of the reaction. Hypergolic for sure.
Huh…well, Kai knows how to do it deliberately, Kaya can do it accidentally…
“In hindsight, getting closer might not have been a good idea.”
Thank you, man. 🙂 That’s basically what I’ve been saying, but with different reasoning.
And next week we’re going to find out if we’re in for a Space Balls reference. XD
Why do I have a feeling that this doctor might be Cleo’s mom?
