well, to be fair, kai did warn him – heck, he tried just about everything else first! not his problem if the doc is´n´t listening…..plus its kinda important that they put down the correct species, right? so no, kai shouldn´t get in too much trouble, just because the doc is about to have a nervous breakdown 😉
Considering Kai was careful and did no damage, I suspect his Dad will enjoy the doctor’s consternation as much as Kai does. 🙂
Well I speaking of bets I lost 5 bucks from when I sead I would place 5 on kaya ends up being Kai. Kai I was hoping you would be the more calm one dude but instead your sister weaponized her cuteness instead.

This doc is a dumb : Kai really needs to put the points on the “I” for he understands finally (i hope) ^_^”
Now, now. Hybrids are new but the Animals they’re based on are common.
Kai is probably the first MYTHICAL one he’s encountered.
Unproven slander. Ok then, prove dragons don’t exist.
Every year “new” species are discovered.
In comic, the twins existence may prove dragons exist even if they haven’t been discovered.

Well, we originally expected Kaya to do something like this at the start of the chapter. But it seems Kai has gone literally from smoldering heat to open flames.
Let’s see if the doc get’s it this time or if he is so hard-headed that he accuses Kai of using fire-breathing equipment like a circus artist does.
Or he goes 180° and start’s talking about one of the biggest medical discoveries of the century.
Oh, and I really like Kai’s faces and the lighting in the last panel.

I doubt the fire alarm will go off, despise the name most fire alarms don’t detect fire, they detect smoke, and Kai’s fire seem to be mostly smoke free.

I was talking about Larisa from the webcomic Sandra and Woo (updates mondays too, plus thursdays). Larisa’s name is just so similar and she loves fires a lot, that’s why I thought of her first.
Oh yeah, I remember that comic! It was literally the second webcomic I found. Grew out of it after a while though

About the asterisk note with last week’s strip: 90 degrees Celsius is actually less than 200 degrees Fahrenheit (90*1.8+32=194). Perhaps you meant to put 95 instead of 90; that *would* be more than 200 Fahrenheit.
For this strip: Hopefully the doctor gets it now.

That would actually be an interesting parenting conundrum. You’re raising kids who basically have a deadly weapon with them at all times, so you have to make sure they grow up with a sense of responsibility and avoid the “don’t care about consequences” phase most kids go through.

First, “No capes.” Second, a good fire-retarding suit seems to do wonders.
Yeah, that’s why they both are kind of responsible with their fire. (Yeah, I know Kaya burned Larissa’s hair off, but she had it coming :p )

Ear-thermometers aren’t just for babies, & they’d give good accuracy, without the chance of any “Dragon Mischief” messing with the temperature.

Hi, I’ve backed other Kickstarter comics recently and I’m looking forward to dragon plushies and mugs etc arriving. I’m looking forward to seeing the backer tiers and possible add ons that might be available.
I hope you go beyond the basics.
I would have loved to go beyond the basics more than I did, but since this is my first kickstarter I wanted to keep the risk down :p
I do have two things that I didn’t see much before:
Two limited edition collectible cards of Kai and Kaya
An acrylic standee of Kai and Kaya.
So I tried at least to get something more unique than the usual prints and charms, which I also have :p
The truth will set you free… and also set the curtains on fire… but we’ll just focus on the freedom one for now

Can’t blame the old doc for not believing, given the lack of animals breathing fire, but you’d think the thermometers would at least make him entertain the idea! The denial is great in this one. 🙂

I love how he takes a breath, calms down, and breathes fire. And I especially like how he doesn’t do it in the doctor’s direction. Now I’m wondering how the doc will react.

Honestly, I thought that these free medicals were to study hybrids, in which case, why would you not ask “do you have any unique abilities?”
Doc is too used to human patients.
Anyway, let’s hope Kai doesn’t get in trouble for breaking fire safety…or the laws of biology or something 😛
Though I hope the doc gets over his shock and we get an explanation as to the mechanics behind fire breathing… not sure we’ve seen that yet. My guess is the twins have glands that produce some kind of liquid that combusts when exposed to oxygen.
Now do you believe he’s a dragon doc or a fire breathing Dinosaur in if you prefer. robin I have some ideas for your comics such as a theory that the cause of hybrids may be a mutation in their DNA because of genetic foodstuff, global warming, a DNA experiment gone wrong(no hard feelings hybrids you are still awesome no matter what),aliens(maybe) and evolution. I also got hybrid products like a VR head set that has a strapping in the middle so a snout/beak can fit also a tail controlled kit that you can use instead of arms and a anti shedding cream (works by cooling the hybrid to stop shedding) Ben would love this and that’s it brain dead for now

That doctor’s reaction in the last panel. xD Can’t really blame him though, considering the circumstances. Here he thought that today was going to be just another day looking at lizards… panels 2, 4, and 6 have golden expressions as well. This whole page is just chock full of them. Kai’s “gotcha” smirk cracked me up, his look of “how?!” made me feel the same way, and in panel 6 he just looks so tranquil. Left side of the panel: Peaceful. Relaxing. Right side: INTENSE FEAR. Left: Peace. Right: Fear. It’s all just artistic gold. You never fail to amaze me Robin. Keep up the good work, and as always, stay awesome!

I don’t understand how an human doctor living among furry and scaly people still doesn’t believe in fire-breathing dragons…
Because they are the only two known in the entire world. Pretty much everyone else is a hybrid of something “normal”.
They’re the ones in the region . Who knows if there aren’t other ones away ?
Hmm after reading the whole comic in one go after you recommended it I really like it. Thank you for the recommendation. Ill surely follow it from now on.
Even though it may be socially accepted to have hybrids I still have the feeling that having a fire breathing dragon roaming around town is a whole other story. I am very eager to find out how it continues. Also I like to be proven wrong of course.
Storytelling, Character-Development and Art-Progression and your Setting are very great. Also I had a small laughter every now and then. You got me on the very second comic with the Wololoo priest. But there were quite some other instances as well.
Also interesting is the Character development of the 3 girls that just lived off of Cloes money. I am very interested in the Blonde Girls backstory as she seems to have a very interesting character.
Good work up so far and I am really wondering why I haven’t found your comic sooner 🙂
